- Centro Storico di Siena - Spend your afternoon exploring the city of Siena and its remarkable center. The tour continues in the afternoon with sightseeing in Siena. Our official guides will lead the tour to the old city center, where you can admire the magnificent Siena Cathedral (known as Duomo) and the Town Hall in Piazza del Campo, the venue of the renowned Senese Palio horse race.
- Piazza del Campo - The shell-shaped, famous city center - Piazza del Campo, as locals refer to it, is a significant spot for all civic and political life in Siena, as well as a location for celebrations. Piazza del Campo is also where the famous Palio di Siena occurs twice a year. Ten horses, representing the main districts, race around the square for this celebrated event.
- Via di Citta - One of the main roads in the historical center. Pass through here with your guide.
- Duomo di Siena - Siena’s Cathedral is one of the finest Gothic-Romanesque churches in Italy, and its beauty is breathtaking. From the outside, you will see three portals with the central one dominated by a bronze sun, and the facade is in black and white marble, which are also the colors of the city.
- Facciatone - Admire this part of the Siena Cathedral. The church also houses paintings and sculptures by Donatello, Pinturicchio, and Nicola Pisano.
- Fonte Gaia - An ancient fountain covered with white marble located in Piazza del Campo. The fountain is formed by wolves representing the mother of Romulus and Remus, celebrating the link to ancient Rome. The original sculpted panels are not in the square – they were removed for preservation purposes, but you can now see them at Santa Maria della Scala.
- Piazza Salimbeni - Discover the history and anecdotes of the city. The best way to do this is on foot, admiring the city’s transformations over the centuries and enjoying spectacular landscapes and curious details.
- Palazzo Tolomei - An ancient palace located in the heart of Siena. There will be no shortage of references to the great noble families, such as the Piccolomini, Tolomei, and Salimbeni, and their palaces, the great tradition of the Palio di Siena, and also the stories of pilgrimage and sanctity that distinguish the city.
- Palazzo Pubblico and Museo Civico - This was the government of the Republic of Siena and also represents one of the city halls of the city today. Here you will find the Civic Museum of Siena, which houses famous paintings and frescoes, including “The Maestà.”
- Agricola Poggio Ai Laghi - In the stunning Tuscan countryside, enjoy a private tour of the winery before indulging in a tasting of their finest products. Sip on a selection that includes 5 wines paired with artisanal olive oils like extra virgin, truffle, and spicy pepper, as well as their Gold Seal balsamic vinegar.
The lunch is a true Tuscan feast. Start with appetizers of Tuscan cheese, cured meats, bruschetta, and salad. Savor the first course of Lasagne al Tartufo and hearty Tuscan ribollita, followed by dessert: cantucci paired with Ildebrando Vin Santo. This exceptional dining experience highlights the rich flavors and heritage of Tuscany, making your visit unforgettable.
- Porta San Giovanni - This is one of the gates to enter the medieval hamlet.
- Historic Centre of San Gimignano - Enjoy some free time in this stunning medieval village, also declared a world cultural heritage site by UNESCO due to its beauty and tower houses. It was also known as the “Manhattan of the Middle Ages.” You will have free time to visit whatever you wish in San Gimignano, such as tasting one of the best ice creams in the world at Gelateria Dondoli.
- Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta - Duomo di San Gimignano - During your free time, you can choose to visit the beautiful Duomo located in the main square of the village. This is an extraordinary example of a well-preserved medieval urban town, with the original old walls. This is also the main reason why UNESCO included this town in the world heritage sites.
- Piazza della Cisterna - One of the main squares of the village, named for the well in the middle of the square. Admire beautiful palaces that face the square. The old town center is full of alleys and beautiful squares, museums, palaces, churches, magnificent towers, and craftsmen’s workshops.
- Palazzo Pubblico e Torre Grossa - If you wish to climb an original tower house and travel back to the Middle Ages, then you should climb this tower. From the top, the view is stunning. This wonderful landscape will captivate you with its unique skyline made of towers. Most of the towers in San Gimignano were built during the 14th century by families who wanted to demonstrate their growing power.
