Carefull! Accident (broken bone) and no help! - Careful! Accident and no help! Rude and ignorant treatment! We did the Gole Alcantara Body Rafting Tour on July 16th 2024. There was an accident: one of the other tour members slipped on a rock and fell on my foot with his full body weight. I felt a bone crack in my foot. When I told the guide, he told me I had to walk/swim my way back to the camp as there is no possibility to get picked up from inside the Gole. It was a pretty rough way back. In the camp, they gave me ice to cool. That was it. They did not feel responsible to help or support in any way after that. The owner came outside and took a brief look at my foot. Then he said to one of the guides that it looked "like nothing" to him and they both laughed. Nobody offered a glass of water, to call a taxi/ambulance or take us to a hospital. The other tourists were pretty disturbed by this, too. Several offered to help. In the end, two English women drove us to the emergency room. Before we left, one of the guides asked me to send photos of the hospital report via WhatsApp and gave me the owners mobile number. He said it was for insurance. At the hospital, the x-ray showed a bad fracture. I sent photos of the reports right away but the owner did not react for several days. I asked again via their website if there is anything else to do now. Without any further comment, he replied by sending a photo of a contract in Italian thay made everybody sign pre tour. No explanation, no apology, nothing. I reckon the contract sais they are free of responsibility. I obviously have have health insurance myself. They are the ones who demanded photos. It does not make sense why they asked me to even send them the hospital reports. When I asked why, the guy ignored the text and never replied. It's all very confusing. Accidents can happen. But being treated with such ignorance, being laughed at, being left on our own with a broken foot in the middle of nowhere and then being ignored after following their request for sending photos. A dodgy contract in Italian that they dont explain but make everybody sign... all of this was a very disturbing experience. Extremely irresponsible, rude and dangerous agency. Careful! If anything happens to you during their tour, they will not feel responsible and you're on your own in the middle of nowhere.
