Mount Vesuvius, one of the world’s most fascinating volcanoes, is famous globally for the catastrophic 79 A.D. eruption that wiped out the Roman cities of Pompeii, Herculaneum, Oplontis, and Stabiae. From a far-off perspective, Vesuvius appears unthreatening, but upon nearing its crater, one can truly sense the force of the enormous sentinel. Departing from Pompeii, there is an ascent to 1000 meters. A short 30-minute trek from the car park will lead you to the crater. Upon reaching, you’ll be rewarded with a stunning panorama of the Bay of Naples. The tour concludes at Naples Central Station.

Group size is capped between 18 and 25 individuals. The excursion includes return transport from central Naples or the cruise port.

• Your tour operator will collect the Mt. Vesuvius entrance fee on board the bus in order to secure your skip the line tickets from the ticket office “guide’s counter”
