Our rendezvous spot is the San Gregorio Armeno church. You will be immediately struck by its majesty, from the grand ceiling to the pulpit and chapels. We’ll then proceed to Piazzetta Nilo, boasting a large statue of the God of the Nile. The next destination is the Gesù Vecchio church. The Jesuit Order exploited the Baroque’s magnificence to captivate believers, transforming them into appreciative observers. This church is the original mother church of the order. As the influence and significance of the Jesuits in Naples grew exponentially, they drew inspiration from a new edifice: Our next stop, the Gesù Nuovo church, situated in the namesake square. Formerly the civil building, Palazzo Sanseverino, it was repurposed into a sacred structure. The entryway is genuinely breathtaking! The final stop is the Santa Chira cloister: a tranquil haven housing the city’s most exquisite majolicas.
