THIS IS A MAJESTIC JOURNEY not a routine sightseeing
Let’s embark on a stroll through the significant landmarks, and I would be enthralled to reveal several offbeat places known only to the locals.
The initiation point is at Italy’s largest square: Piazza del Plebiscito, home to Naples’ Royal Palace and the city’s most ancient pub (Gran Cafè Gambrinus). We’ll saunter together through Via Toledo, traversing from one end of the city to the polar opposite, eventually reaching the UNESCO Historical Center of Naples (Greek/Roman aspects). Along our wanderings, we can delve into the Spanish Quarter, the indigenous market of Pignasecca. Don’t worry, it’s not a race, so we could also pause along our route to enjoy local gastronomy, and undoubtedly, a traditional ‘Caffè’ from Naples!
Our exploration carries on at Piazza del Gesù, showcasing the most grandiose baroque church in the city, Piazza Bellini where the ancient Greek boundaries of ‘Neapolis’ stand, Via dei Tribunali possessing the oldest tower of Pietrasanta, San Gregorio Armeno (home to artisans), Spaccanapoli, and the Duomo of S. Gennaro along with his sacred Blood!
