The tour includes a delightful wine tasting and a visit to a vineyard located on the slopes of the volcano.
Participants can choose between two guided hiking experiences:
- The Crater Route, which takes you to the summit of Mount Vesuvius, offering panoramic views and a glimpse into the crater.
- The Valley of Hell Trail, a more adventurous trek through ancient lava flows and unique geological formations, including a lava cave.
Both hikes are led by knowledgeable guides who provide fascinating insights into the area’s geology and history. This experience is suitable for most visitors with moderate fitness levels and promises an unforgettable adventure through one of Italy’s most iconic natural wonders.
- Cruise ship passengers must provide the following information at time of booking: ship name, docking time, disembarkation time and re-boarding time

Tour good, guide not so much - Was a good activity but was not guided by a Volcanologist as advertised. It was a tour bus with a guide and driver who gave us our tickets, dropped us off at the gate and said, if you have any questions there should be a Volcanologist up there, see you later!! We couldn't even understand the guide, her English was not the best, even though we booked English speaking. She only spoke to us twice the entire tour, yet some to the others who'd been with her all day, which we felt was quite rude. Would recommend this activity, but not the guide unfortunately.

Spectacular - I loved the visit, both our guide in Spanish, Antonella and Antonio were spectacular. I really enjoyed the visit.

Worthwhile tour and lunch - We had a great time with Davide and Francesco. They took us up Mt. Vesuvius by van and waited while we spent 2 hrs hiking to the crater. Along the way Davide shared interesting info about the area. Following the ride down we were invited to a tasty lunch at the Tenuta Sorrentino vineyard along with a short visit amongst the grapevines. Francesco dropped us off at our ship, after 6 hours. Great value for the price!

Find Your Own Pace - Our journey to the mountain top was challenging and rewarding. The views were spectacular. Each of us found our on pace and arrived with an incredible sense of accomplishment!

Once in a life time - This was such once in a life time trip. Recommend walking boot as the steep clime makes your body work hard and if hot take lots of water. Take fruit as snack health alternative to crops. Go toilet before start as toilet facilities very very basic it’s about 30 min walk to top.

Peeking at the Mountain that caused all the trouble - This is a very good experience. The centerpiece of the experience is the visit to the Vesuvius caldera. Vehicles must park about 250 m below the caldera so walking uphill (moderate to vigorous walk) is required. On a good day there are sweeping views of the Bay of Naples. Unfortunately the park is light on guides to explain what you are seeing at the caldera. Lunch at a vineyard on the slopes of Vesuvius was much better than I expected. Take the wine tasting option as the wines are pretty good.

Great tour but different than promised - We had a great time and lots of fun at this trip. Our driver Paolo was funny, nice and absolutely great guy - he knows how to make people feel relaxed and enjoy their time. Also our guide Diana took really good care of us. We were well informed about schedules and program all the time. It was fun to talk with our international group.
Still: this tour was a bit/quite a lot different than descriped at the web site.
First: it took more than 7 hours instead of approx. 4.
Secondly: I did not know that a lunch was included. Some of our group had a possibility to choose a vegan food. We did not.
Thirdly: We visited shortly Pompeiji's shops and a wine yard. Did not know that.
And last but not least: On Viator's website was told that "Listen to a volcanologist to learn about Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii" and "Volcanologist guide at the summit of Vesuvius" is included. We made the Vesuvius walk all alone. Of course Diana told us a little something while we were on our way up but there was nothing we did not knew before.
But: Vesivius was nice, the athmosphere was great, food on the wineyard was delicious and Paolo & Diana best! We really enjoyed ourselves. <3

lack of clarity about this tour in general - You can't access it in the winter, at least we can't. besides it's raining, a lot of information unfound, the bus drivers can't tell if it's open or closed. The summit of the Vesuvius in winter has snow, no one informs right how to go and those who "inform" are exploiters trying to sell expensive packages and fakes.

They couldnt give us a... - They couldnt give us a trip
To the mount vesuvios because of weather which is fair, but didnt give a full refund which is a scam.
