Galleria MANN - Beautiful, large museum with many important works. I had the honor of attending the reopening after 1 year of restoration at the Farnese Gem Gallery, beautiful. The only drawback after paying €20 (adults) for admission at 10.00 were out of audio guides 🤦🏻‍♀️ in my opinion very serious!!!!

Superb museum and guide! - Anna was a superb guide. A lifelong Napolitan, she was highly knowledgeable about the many treasures in the museum. We were shocked to discover so many fabulous pieces beyond the mosiacs--sculpture, ceramics, ancient pottery, jewelry, etc. It is an incredible place. Their new cafe was fine, too, for a quick bite. (If you are on a cruise, it is TOO FAR to walk to meet at the museum. We walked back, which is fine/downhill. ) Anna and Viator, once again, did a great job significantly enhancing our visit.

Naples Archeological Museum - The Archeological Museum is a must see. The displays are well organized and described in Italian and in English. There are statues and frescoes from Roman times as well as everyday items, jewelry, pottery, medical instruments etc. One wing is dedicated to mosaics and paintings from Pompeii. On the top floor ancient artifacts are displayed. There is a nice courtyard and also a cafe, stand up and with sit down service. A bookshop sells great books, Roman History for example.

Mandatory stop - We visited this museum in February, the first Sunday of the month and we took advantage of the free ticket to enter. It houses a vast collection of finds, statuary and mosaics of ancient art of notable value. Absolutely worth visiting

So many wonders in one place - All the treasures of Magna Graecia and Herculaneum and Pompeii in one place. The Pompeian frescoes and mosaics are unmissable, the Farnese sections and the one dedicated to Alexander the Great are impressive. All in a building that alone deserves it anyway. Peaceful visit, free from obligatory routes; large spaces and seats for breaks or to admire the main works. You can easily get to the Museo stop with metro 1, which ends practically below.

One of the best archaeological museums in the world - This is one of the best archaeological museums in the world. Not only does it have all the goodies from Pompeii, but it also has the amazing Farnese Collection from Rome. I pre-booked tickets online fearing a traffic jam at the entrance, but there weren't that many people waiting in line. I arrived early to my prebooked time, and it didn't seem to matter--they let me in. They have a nice coat check option which is free, and you can deposit your backpack or umbrella or what have you so you can proceed unencumbered. The museum is rather old-school in its presentation, although most of the signage is in Italian and English, so you don't really miss out. We ate lunch at the museum cafe, and that was good--although the menu is hardly extensive. Currently the great mosaic of the Battle of Issus is under restoration and will not be viewable for about two years. Other than that, the other gems in the museum: the Spear Bearer, the Roman paintings, the Farnese Hercules and Farnese Bull, are all viewable. You'll have a great time if you go.

A not to be missed museum - This is an extraordinary museum that is must for anyone interested in art and Italian history. We spent 3 hours but got hungry and left, but we all felt another hour would have been good. The building that houses the sculptures is beautiful. The sculptures and mosaic floors from Pompeii are a wonderful thing to see. The three of us felt this visit was a highlight of our three weeks in southern Italy.

Must visit in Naples - My partner and I spent over 4 hours here admiring all the incredible exhibits and wonderfully preserved pieces of history. Make sure you go here if you visit Naples, you will not regret it. Cafe food was not too great but we didn’t go there for the food. Explore every inch, as there are things worth exploring hidden away everywhere. This is a perfect day out, and a breath taking display of history

Really interesting museum, but not properly maintained. - The museum is really interesting, but it is poorly maintained. For an entrance fee of 22 euros you would expect at least a decend toilet..
