Naples museum: the rediscovered treasures of Pompeii and Herculaneum - Naples museum houses many of the treasures and artifacts from the Pompeii and Herculaneum excavations. As it also has other collections we opted for a two hour guided tour to focus on Pompeii and Herculaneum and were so grateful we did because our guide, Annalisa, from Askos tours was wonderful. Her delightful friendliness was matched by her knowledge of the exhibits and real enthusiasm for showing them to us. She supplied excellent information but also gave us time to look at our own pace. We appreciated what we saw so much more because of her input and unreservedly recommend both this tour and Annalisa as a guide to anyone visiting the museum.

Blow your mind Museum. - Here you can actually see the real and daily life of people 2000 years ago. Their technology and knowledge if far from what we expected. So much incredible art pieces. The museum is one of the best I ever visited. Can’t be missed.

Fantastic Fantastic Fantastica! - Our tour guide Laura was amazing. Next, I wanted to focus on the Pompeii collection, it is amazing. The mosaics are unbelievable, to think that some were made before Christ and in such pristine condition. That they had medical instruments was very interesting. The Farnesi collection of jewels was beautiful and finally the largest sculpture made of a single block of marble. Originally made by the Greeks "borrowed" by the Italians and apparently isn't going back. If you miss this, you'll be sorry.

Self guided tour - An excellent museum with many items from Pompeii. I especially enjoyed the section of everyday items for cooking and household. Made it easier to -ain’t a picture of their lives.

Museum private tour - The tour included the entry tickets, which were not otherwise available online (sold out till later in the week). The guide was knowledgeable and able to shift the tour based on our interests. Worthwhile to note: The same qualified tour guides were at the entrance to free their services to anyone with a ticket (presumably for a much less fee?). So you could hire them on the spot. No air conditioning in the museum. The mosaics were stunning that came from the Pompei and Herculaneum regions! The museum and private tour I would rate at five stars. The cost done this way brings it down to four now that I know.
