Interesting, detailed and fun tour. Super value. - The experience exceeded our expectations. Its a little hectic at the start as the different language groups are sorted at the entrance, so suggest to be a little early. Excellent both in terms of the scale of what's beneath the city but also the quality of the tour guide in terms of information shared and entertainment! Following the underground tour you visit the remains of a theatre now hidden and buried in layers of following developments. Interesting and a cool break from the city streets, great value, highly recommend.

Very interesting and great value. - Been to Naples many times , so done all the top attractions. Searched Viator for an idea of other things to do and stumbled across this tour. Very interesting tour, great tour guide, great value for money. We had no idea Naples had an underground attraction.
Words of advice ...
Not suitable if you are claustrophobic or of a large size. That's not being rude, there is a section of tunnels that you have to squeeze through. Anyone larger than 18-20 stone would not be able to do this part. It is possible to complete the tour without doing this section. There are also approx. 300 stone steps to climb down and back up.

Interesting and engaging, worth the money - Our tour guide was passionate about the history of the underground and theatre and kept us engaged the whole time which is impressive for over an hour.
One part includes walking sideways for two minutes through narrow aqueduct channels so skip this part if you’re claustrophobic.
Seeing and learning about the different historical stages was fascinating.
It was particularly incredible to see how the ancient foundations of the theatre merge into newer buildings above - ancient and modern history blending together!

Loved it - The guide was good although due to the size of the group a bit hard to hear st times snd there was an italian tour that left a minute before us that were echoing. It would be nice if they stagged them by 10 minutes apart. 35 metres undergroind.. 135 steps down snd up snd sbout 100 metres walking sideways in the narrow sections underground.. using mobile phone light

Naples underground - Very interesting and historical information. Tour guide a little hard to understand but still enjoyable. Go to pastry shop across from entrance for a great cappuccino and pastry!

Good tour, but be aware... - This was a very cool tour of underground Cistern (Not as good as the one in Istanbul, but good). It could have been a bit better if the guides doing the English tours didn't have such strong accents as it is hard to understand them, so unfortunately we didn't get most of what was said. It would also be better if they used audio sets and had smaller groups, it was hard to hear, especially if you're at the back of the group. We feel the there should be more information about being cautious of "claustrophobia". My husband is 6'3", broad shouldered, big feet and has a bit of a big belly (no not beer!, good food!). You have to bend over and walk several feet throughout... not bad however then you have to walk sideways through a very, very narrow crevasse for quite a ways. It was very tight for him and he almost wore all the fabric off the front of his tshirt from rubbing and forcing himself through. He is claustrophobic but we expected it to be like others we have been in, while underground, we're not constructive. So, we can laugh about it now, but I was concerned for him after we started out (got smaller as you went), but he was ok, mostly because the crevasses were very tall.

A Unique and historical experience far beow the Naples of today. - My wife and I have done this tour before and found it to be fascinating. So, when we were back in Naples with friends, we reserved spaces again. Our friends agreed that it was a unique experience and enjoyed it. Buying tickets online in advance is a “must” because the tour’s popularity has grown and the line for those without tickets was long. Likewise, I did not give this experience a 5-star rating as I did the first time. I felt the groups with each guide were a bit too large and too many groups were in the tunnels at the same time and hearing one’s own guide was often difficult.
