Where all the good Pompeii artifacts are - When you visit Pompeii's ruins, you see replicas of many things that have been removed. the originals are here,. Further, all the more delicate items they found are here too and you see none of that (not even reproductions) in Pompeii. the amount of things to see here is overwhelming. Mosaics, wall painting, glassware, furniture and statues galore.

If You Like Ancient Italian History You Must Visit The National Archeological Museum in Naples - The museum is huge, beautiful and fascinating! The artifacts from Pompeii , which was the main reason for our visit, are absolutely amazing and plentiful. It takes hours to see even a portion of what is there. An added bonus is the cafeteria has really delicious food at reasonable prices!

Amazing Collection of Artifacts - This is an incredible museum with an impressive collection, especially of artifacts from Pompeii. Well worth the money spent, but one thing to note is that the museum does not have air conditioning. So if you decide to visit in the middle of August, as I did, you'll find yourself sweltering in most parts of the building.

A must see in Napoli! - First thing I will say is the area surrounding the museum sadly isn’t the best- as we approached the museum, we spotted two homeless men asleep on the stairs of the museum. Having said that, the museum is on top of the metro station so it’s the easiest thing in Napoli to reach. The museum is definitely worthwhile visiting, you will easily spend two hours here and possibly even longer so it’s well worth the 22€ entrance fee (under 18s are free as well which is brilliant). Don’t miss this whilst in Napoli, it was the last thing we did before leaving and I’m so glad we didn’t miss it. Loved the Medea paintings.

A masterpiece of a museum - We didn’t know much about this Museum which is a sad reflection on us as it is truly amazing and makes a visit to Naples worthwhile - along with the pizza at Pizzeria Brandi!

Grandios - with swabs - For the ancient mosaics from Pompeii you have to pay extra again, which is not understandable (it is worth it), and you should have pointed out that the best-known exhibit "Alexanderschlacht" is not on display due to restoration (annoying). The whole thing is also arranged in a somewhat confusing way – but otherwise grandiose.

WAY too expensive - While there's no denying that the archaeological museum is interesting and has some unique finds, the price is absurd for the size of the museum. The museum looks quite large, but it really takes only an hour to get through it all, which is definitely not worth the 22 euro tickets.

A massive disappointment given the other good reviws - Poorly laid out with most exhibits pushed against walls leaving grand halls echoing their emptiness. I expected more given the good reviews but I found it difficult to engage with the subject matter and totally uninspiring. Toilets are in the cellars, they are not clean and they smell horribly. For elderly visitors there are very few hand rails and i witnessed a couple of stumbles and one fall. Unthinking tour guides seem happy to discuss exhibits next to doorways which blocks access and creates stress for others. This place was not my idea of fun at all, it's just hard work.
