- Quartieri Spagnoli - The Spanish Quarters are situated in the historic center of Naples, comprising the San Ferdinando, Avvocata, and Montecalvario districts. From an urban planning perspective, the Spanish Quarters are distinguished by a grid-like structure that descends from the heights dominated by Castel Sant’Elmo. These quarters were originally intended to house Spanish soldiers. Established in the 16th century by order of Pedro de Toledo, they were designed to accommodate Spanish military garrisons, aimed at suppressing potential revolts by the Neapolitan population, or serving as temporary lodging for soldiers passing through Naples en route to other conflicts.
- Via Toledo - This road begins at Piazza Dante and concludes at Piazza Trieste e Trento, with several significant arteries, squares, churches, and noble palaces branching off along its length. Since the 16th century, it has been a hub of Neapolitan shopping and cultural life. Commissioned by Viceroy Pedro Álvarez de Toledo in 1536, it was designed by royal architects Ferdinando Manlio and Giovanni Benincasa. The road followed the old western city walls from the Aragonese era, which were rendered obsolete and subsequently removed due to the defensive expansions by Don Pedro de Toledo himself.
