An Authentic and Unqiue Italian Experience! - Oh my goodness, where to even begin? This was such an amazing, once in a lifetime experience! My mother and I were looking for something unqiue to do while visiting Rome, and this could not have been better. Just outside the city, we were able to go and make pizza with Enrica (mamma) and her daughter Jamila. From the beginning, they welcomed us into their home and made us feel like part of the family. They greeted us with coffee and homemade lemon bread before getting started. Once we got to know eachother, they took us into their cooking studio and got right to work. We took it from the very basics, mixing and making our own dough by hand. Although we'd never done it before, they were patient, friendly, and made it so fun. We got to smash the tomatoes by hand, prepare the cheese, and doing all the prep (aside from preparing the toppings, which they'd already done for us.) When booking, I let them know dietary restrictions, and they were more than ready with options that worked perfectly. After doing that, they took us outside to their woodburning pizza oven, and we got to work. We stretched the dough, prepped the pizza, and put it in the oven. They let us do everything, only guiding us and helping us where needed. They had a variety of toppings, including a pumpkin sauce they'd made by hand that we could use as the sauce instead of the normal tomato base! (We both chose that, and it was SO good!) Mamma was so patient, and was telling us tips and tricks along the way for doing it at home when we don't have access to all the tools they did. After pulling the pizzas from the oven with Enrica, Jamila had prepared a table for us to eat with wine and music playing. We got to sit and gaze out on the Italian countryside while eating these delicious pizzas we'd made ourselves! I cannot overstate what a unqiue, fun, and friendly experience this was. Both mamma and daughter were the most welcoming people, and put us (cooking novices) completely at ease. If you have an opportunity, this is something not to be missed! We were in Rome for four days, and did all the major first-time tourist things, and we're still talking about this, days later. I'm so glad we found this and did something so unique and authentically Italian. If you have the chance, you will not regret it!

Get out of the city a bit for a great pizza lesson - This was a wonderful couple hours of cooking at a beautiful home with wonderful people. My daughter and I had a great time learning how to cook fresh pizza with veggies and seasoning right from their garden. It was great and we didn’t get all bloated from the pizza either. Super way to have lunch. We recommend.
