Highlights
  • Coyoacan - Begin your full-day tour with a visit to Coyoacn, one of the oldest neighborhoods in Mexico City, dating back to pre-Hispanic times. As you stroll the cobblestone streets and see 16-century mansions, learn about the history of this area and its colonial legacy from your knowledgeable guide.

Listen to how the neighborhood turned into a cultural hotspot, attracting artists and intellectuals in great numbers.

  • Museo Frida Kahlo - Wrap up your Coyoacn visit at the Frida Kahlo Museum, also known as Casa Azul (Blue House). See where this world-renowned artist lived with her husband, Diego Rivera, and learn about her tumultuous life. During your hour of free time here, admire examples of her iconic work.
  • Xochimilco - Xochimilco is an agricultural area located 17 miles (28 km) south of Mexico City where many of the citys flowers are grown. Back in Aztec times, this valley was once a lake. Learn how the local people, as a way around the lack of farmland, developed islands with floating reed mats loaded with soil and used them as gardens called chinampas. Today, these gardens are an ecological reserve and a UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Floating Gardens of Xochimilco - Board a colorful, flat-bottomed boat called a trajinera with your guide, and for an hour take a slow cruise on the chinampa channels, passing by floating gardens of flowers. As your boatman moves the vessel along by pulling a pole through the water, hear from your guide about the characteristic boats, originally hollowed from logs and once used for transportation throughout Mexico.

Pass by other painted vessels transporting passengers and check out the boat vendors selling fresh food. Hungry? Taste a variety of dishes and drinks, such as mole, mixiote (barbequed meat), roasted corn, quesadillas, tacos, carnitas, pulque (milk-colored alcoholic beverage) and micheladas (Mexican beer-based cocktail). (Food and drink purchases are at your own expense.) Hear music like mariachi drifting from other boats, occupied by families and visitors celebrating birthdays, baptisms, weddings, or simply a good time.

  • Ciudad Universitaria - We going to appreciate the Juan Ogorman & Diego Rivera murals on the UNAM central library, this murals are an UNESCO World Heritage site.
  • Estadio Olimpico Universitario - Admire the Olimpic Stadium from the outside when arriving to University Campus

Great Time - Getting to the meeting place was luckily close to our hotel (Historico Central Hotel). Not a far walk for us. The tour guides were so helpful and easy to locate them too (they wore shirts with their logo). The group was split with English speakers and Spanish speakers. We did a lot of walking but when we went place to place we had the bus. The longest drive was probably 45 mins and it was a perfect nap time. Make sure to bring pesos with you since they rip you off with dollars. Frida Kahlo Museum was amazing and worth it to include it with your tour.

I would never have gotten so much out of the day as I did with Amigo tours. Thank you for the amazing memories I can carry with my family.

Worthwhile experience. - Overall a decent tour. Excellent tour guides helped a lot. Highlight was definately the Frida museum. Only complaint was that it was very crowded and 1 hour felt a bit rushed.

A long day but culturally a great experience. - Excellent tour. The meeting place was easy to get to. Waiting on an Uber once we got back to the meeting place to get back to my hotel took time due to the City traffic and others using Uber also. Tour had a Spanish and English guide, and they were extremely knowledgeable and friendly both great to have. This was the best way to get a ticket to the Frieda Kahlo museum, basically last minute. It was a long day, but I got to see so many wonderful city sites and glad I did get this package. The only thing I was not impressed with and where service was lacking was the restaurant we stopped at for lunch. They could have done much better. Overall, it was a great experience.

A little bit more info would have been great - The tour itself was good. We loved the Frida Khalo house. Our only issue was that we wished the guide had given us more information about what we were going to be doing and what to prepare for.

Taxi drivers exploiting tourists - I found Mexico City chaotic, terrible traffic, very disorganized. Be careful, I found the city ugly And don't take TAXI , they exploit you , a fortune , use Uber , it works super well , and the value is fair .
