BEST Tour w/ Gerardo - Originally, we had booked a food tour of the Historic City Center with this same company via Viator, but the company reached out and let us know that it had been canceled on the morning of our tour. They messaged me via WhatsApp, and we were very quickly able to cancel via Viator and rebook this Coyoacan food tour instead. I felt that because of this quick communication, we were able to salvage the day and had the best time.
We showed up at Coyoacan park early and very easily found our tour guide, Gerardo, who was wearing a company shirt. To our delight and surprise, we learned that we would actually be having a private tour! Gerardo speaks excellent English and was very informative of all the sites and stalls. Because it was just my husband and I, he changed up his usual tour and made sure to ask us what WE wanted to eat and see. He customized our tour so we got to try all the things we were curious about. He took us to many stops in the market, as well as around the neighborhood. We got to enjoy sopes, tostadas, quesadillas, aguas frescas , chocolate tasting, churros, ice cream, pastries and more. He took time to lead us through the busy market and let us look around. I have many food allergies, and he made sure every single vendor knew about them. At the end of the tour, we wanted to try pulque, so he led us to a bar where it was served.
Gerardo really made this experience AMAZING! We are so grateful that our original tour ended up being canceled and we got to experience Coyoacan with Gerardo. Absolutely would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to explore Coyoacan, but doesn't know where to start.

Great experience - Excellent tour with very patient and knowledgeable guides. Diego was wonderful and took us some really great places. The only thing I didn't love is that we had 5 food stops and there was way more than I could eat and I felt a little wasteful. If I were to do this again, I would go with someone else so we could share most of the dishes. We were given opportunities to stop and shop but our group really didn't and it might have helped if we had taken advantage of the opportunities. I liked that I was able to try a couple of things that were unfamiliar to me, even though I consider myself pretty well versed in Mexican food and that we got a little taste of this lovely neighborhood. I also liked how considerate they were asking if anyone had food allergies or preferences, and we were given the opportunity to choose what we are at each place, even though I followed their advice on what to try. For those who are hesitant because of activity level, this was quite easy and there was seating at all of the stops. Bring a water bottle because there are not drink options at every stop, but you don't need to bring rain gear because they have ponchos for you if necessary.

Come Hungry - David, a professionally trained chef was a culinary library of information. His grasp of the local history and his enthusiasm for his country was second to none. And the food! OMG, you’d better come hungry, ‘cause there’s a bunch of food in front of you!

10/10 would recommend - This was our first trip to Mexico City. My wife and I booked our tour after seeing several recommendations on Reddit. Our guide was Diego. He couldn’t have been nicer, and the tour was exactly what we were hoping for. We enjoyed great food, while we learned all about the neighborhood, culture and culinary traditions. Our Spanish isn’t that good, but Diego spoke great English and answered all of our questions with a smile, and even gave us recommendations for places to visit after the tour was over. We’ve taken several food tours before and I gotta say, Diego was one of the best.

Fun way to get to know the town - This is a really nice way to get to know the city center of Coyoacan. I had a really fun time with the guide and the other guests. We went to about 7 or 8 different places and by the end of it I was definitely satisfied! I would say 5/7 of the places were very delicious and the others wer okay. Overall a great experience that I would recommend.
