Beautiful and exciting tour - Loved the Grutas de Tolantongo tour, especially the cave part! We did the tour with an infant and even he enjoyed the trip though long drives were required each way (4hrs each way). Our guide was very helpful and took good care of us, Highly recommend a visit to Tolantongo.

Phenomenal Trip - Had a wonderful time, weather was perfect. Manny was really funny and honest about recommendations, and what to expect of tour. Definitely get some good rest the night prior and expect the tour to take all day. Left the tour with lifetime memories and things to share and show when I get back to the states. One if not the best tour I’ve experienced so far yet.

Great adventure for a solo woman traveler - Amazing adventure with our tour guide Manny. He gave us so many tips that you would only know from doing this serial times. I appreciated all of his knowledge and help. It was so much more than I expected! Miguel was a great driver as well. Got us there and back safely. Thank you so much for the experience!

Fun, memorable, and made some new friends along the way! - Had the best tour guide and made new friends! Our guide was so caring, considerate, and helped us feel safe exploring outside the city. We stopped along the side of the road in the rural areas for fresh fruits and delicious barbacoa tacos. A truly unique, fun, and memorable experience I would 100% recommend this trip to anyone who is adventurous and enjoys water.

Hot Springs in a way you have never seen them before - This was an incredible trip. Our tour guide, Manny, did so many little extra things for us. He had towels and water shoes for some of the people that had forgotten their own. These were things that were not included. He was very thoughtful, and considerate, and was always aware of what we needed, like the bathroom, or food. The trip was divided into three parts, the first part was the pools. There are over 70 of them and you can go in one to the next or stay in the one that you like. There was a locker room where you could change into your bathing suit, and we left our valuables in the van. Lunch was not included, but we did eat it at the restaurant on the grounds. I myself, had I known, would’ve gotten a quick snack instead of a sit down lunch, We got back into the van in our bathing suits for the 10 minute ride down to the river for the next two parts. We were able to go into the cave from which the river ran with flashlights on our heads, and then into the river which is completely natural, but with barriers across it to create multiple pools, those closer to the cave with stronger current. There is another locker room by the caves, and we could change back into our dry clothes for the trip back. Manny took us to various places on the way back to try delicious local bread, the best taco in the world, and pulque (but it was to late). I highly recommend this trip.

pretty good overall! - this is a long day so it’s best to prepare with snacks/water. our guide was very friendly, but our tour went over by 3 hours. our guide also seemed to steer us to specific points to eat, shop, etc instead of allowing us options. i’ve done this tour before and i know there are alternate places to eat/drink. for this tour, i would suggest going to another company that starts earlier or ends on time. however, the guide and driver were wonderful.

Nine hours travel time. - Do you want to spend nine hours of your vacation on transportation to and from a destination? Nowhere in the description of this tour do they tell you how long the transportation takes. It is four hours there and nearly 5 hours return. One hour of the trip is on windy and Rocky roads, which will be difficult for anyone with vertigo or prone to car sickness. One day before our scheduled trip, we happen to speak to an independent professional tour guide who told us that it was a long and boring trip to get to the Hot Springs. He had no reason to try to dissuade us from taking this trip since he wasn’t trying to sell his own tours. He was just trying to help. So I called [Viator] and told them that it was impossible for us to make this long journey because two of us were already ill with diarrhea and two had other reasons why they couldn’t stand this journey. The agent told me that it was up to the tour provider, and she said I needed to call the provider, since the trip was 19 hours away. I did that. I explained to him that two from our group had medical issues but he said he couldn’t refund our payment. I wrote a letter to [Viator] and the provider. They still refused to refund our payment. Nowhere in the description will you find the amount of time that it takes to get to the Hot Springs. NINE HOURS. Think about it if you were considering taking this tour.

DO NOT BOOK. - migo Viajero is an extremely unprofessional service provider who should not be trusted - just look them up on your favorite search engine. I booked this excursion for myself about 2 weeks ahead and modified my existing travel plans (changed flight, extended hotel stay, etc.) just to accommodate this once-in-a-lifetime experience. As the date got closer, I reached out to Amigo Viajero to confirm what items I should bring for the day. I got no response. The tour is supposed to meet at 6 am and around 11 pm the night before, they let me know they were canceling my experience because no other travelers booked. This information was surely available well ahead of when it was communicated. Instead, I woke up at 5 am in a panic to find out my all-day plans had been ruined with almost no time for recourse. Don't be like me - please save yourself. I have used Viator for several years and I have never had any complaints.
