Additional Information

Most visitors stay at the same tourist sites, but rarely get to experience real life as a local…so, we’ve designed a journey to Iztapalapa, an area that reflects the daily lives of 2 million people, that otherwise, you would never hear about.

This urban district is the largest in the city, full of culture, street food, traditions, and history that comes as far from the Aztecs.

What will we do?
The adventure starts Downtown, where we’ll take the subway towards the suburbs.
Then we’ll visit a local museum to learn the best facts about Iztapalapa, their traditions, and their history.
Then, the crown jewels: We’ll fly like birds in the largest cable car in the world for a stunning and colorful view of the street art and the immensity of the valley.
In between, we’ll visit a local market and an amazing airplane converted into a cultural venue.
We’ll come back home by metro, finishing with a pre-hispanic drink in a bar.

Awesome ! - Superb day trip. Bring your walking shoes but great to experience the real Mexico City. Ask for the special local bus ride - we got lucky.

Take this tour! - This tour was a top highlight of our 4 days in Mexico, and I would *absolutely* recommend it to anyone interested in learning more about the culture, history, and infrastructure of CDMX. Fernando is a truly fun and engaging tour guide. We had so much fun and appreciate the opportunity to get off of the beaten path. This is really a special tour that should not be missed.

A truly authentic experience - This tour was one of the highlights of Mexico City for my son and I. We saw sights and had experiences we never would have had otherwise. Fernando and Alex were amazing guides taking us on the cable buses to local neighbourhoods and Markets not frequented by tourists and ending the tour in a Pulque bar we never would have found on our own. Alex also gave us a few recommendations for restaurants which were amazing. Thank you for giving us such an authentic experience of your beautiful culture that we will never forget.

Highlight of our trip! - A highlight of our trip! If you want to get outside of tourist areas, eat dope tacos, see beautiful public art, experience the world-class public transportation (heyo, fellow infrastructure wonks), learn about bar-raising community development programs, and so much more, this is for you. Fernando is an incredible guide, offering insightful perspectives along with a delightful dose of humor. If you plan to use public transportation throughout your trip, this would be a great starting point to learning how to navigate it intuitively. I only wish we had stayed longer to take the other tours this company offers, as I have no doubt they’re equally top notch. Show up on time, with your walking shoes (don’t dilly dally; this isn’t a pastoral stroll), and an open mind, and you’ll leave with a more rich and nuanced understanding of the vast, multifaceted metropolitan hub that is CDMX

One of the best things I did in Mexico City - I'm so glad I did this - a friend who'd been to Mexico City had recommended it and it was a fun, educational, and unique experience. Do it!

Fun! Informative! A bit exhausting! - Fernando is a terrific guide! Well informed, timely (don’t be late, he starts on time), fun and personable. The tour is a test for your endurance as he covers a lot of ground both in terms of information and literal geography. Bring a backpack with water, sunscreen, small snack and disinfectant. He travels at a very quick pace and there are quite a few stair cases to get to where you’re going All worth it. Highly recommend this tour as it shows a different and interesting side of the city often overlooked.

Real Mexico City - Our guide Fernando was excellent and have us a unique perspective of the city. This tour is definitely different with rides on metros and cable cars. I'd highly recommend this tour if you want to do something non-toursty.

Spectacular tour! - I can’t express enough how much fun and thorough Fernando was! He explained everything with so much passion and knowledge. He was very caring of our wellbeing throughout the tour. What a privilege to be exposed to other areas outside CDMX. I highly highly recommend this tour.
