- Mexico City - This is a unique opportunity to visit the home of a local and explore traditional culture and cuisine. Meet Margarita at her home on a typical residential street of Mexico Cityâs Tlacopac San \’ngel neighborhood. Start your experience in Margaritaâs garden, weather permitting, where you will enjoy a welcome drink and appetizers. Then head to Margarita’s kitchen for your cooking class, during which you will learn to make 2-3 traditional Mexican dishes. Learn to make tortillas from scratch, which you might turn into quesadillas that you can snack on as you make your next dishes, a traditional soup such as creamy chorizo-bean soup or tortilla soup, along with a main dish such as chile rellenos or pork tenderloin in tamarind sauce. You will also learn to make Mexican rice, a classic side served with many main dishes in Mexico that involves toasting the rice and then cooking it together along with a variety of aromatic vegetables. Then sit down together to enjoy your meal at Margaritaâs dining table or, in warm summer months, outdoors in Margaritaâs garden. End your meal with a traditional rice pudding or a spicy chocolate mousse and coffee or tea.

An absolute must do! - We had a brilliant day with Margarita. We spent part of the day inside her lovely home and part in her beautiful garden. The space as a whole was cozy and welcoming. Her cooking instruction was excellent. I appreciated the menu of delicious food that was not overly complicated so that I can recreate the dishes later at home. Overall, I would highly recommend this experience and if I return to Mexico City I will do it again. Thank you Margarita.

A delightful evening and food inspiration - I recommend Margarita's cooking class as an experience that was inspiring. She was full of suggestions about how we could make multiple Mexican dishes and adjust them to our family’s tastes and needs.
The Poblano Chili in the Chili Relleno can be stuffed with anything and does not have to be buried under a cheese sauce as is often the case in American restaurants.
She showed us how to make a green sauce and use the less spicy part of the jalapeño pepper to adjust to our spice level.
Our Sope appetizer, made with simple ingredients and baked, was fun to roll out and “decorate” with healthy ingredients.
The guava fruit dessert which required minimal preparation and wasn’t too sweet was a charming meal finisher.
Margarita is truly a food professional. Her kitchen was clean and she followed food preparation standards. We communicated with her about allergies and preferences before the class and she was very accommodating and flexible regarding our needs. We enjoyed cooking and our meal with her and came away with ideas for sharing what we learned in our own home.

Cook Wonderful Mexican Dishes with Margarita - Margarita shared approaches to cooking traditional dishes including salsa verde, sopes, chicken mole, rice, and a guava dessert. It was fun cooking with her and learning some of her variety of approaches and techniques. When she discovered we had frequently made salsa verde using the techniques she had planned, she switched things up and taught us a new way we hadn't used (which as delicious!). We had a great time cooking and eating with Margarita in her beautiful garden. Easily one of my favorite activities in our visit to Mexico City. Highly recommended and I hope to be back to cook with Margarita again.

Préciosa! - I cannot say enough about this experience! Margarita was a gracious host, excellent English, very knowledgeable about food and Mexican culture. Her home is beautiful and inviting. We learned a lot and left after a delicious lunch - with take aways! This is a must experience! Well worth it! 💕

We'll recommend! - It was easy to get to the place by metro. Margerita was extremely nice and very informative on everything from the food to mexican culture in general. The food was really good and it was so nice that she prepared for us to cook the food that we suggested. A very good and authentic experience!

Splendid evening with Margarita - What a special evening!! Margarita was exceptionally gracious and patient. An exceptional cook, she guided us in making a delicious meal that was also simple so we can make it at home. speaking of homes, hers is lovely and the perfect setting for our meal. Cannot recommend Margarita more highly!!

An absolute must do!! ⭐ Perfectly intimate, fresh, and delicious! - My partner and I had an absolutely wonderful time cooking with Margarita! She was very warm, and knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed our chats, and meeting her beautiful dog, Lola. The procession of the day was great, starting with traditional Sopes entrées, followed by stuffed peppers & a fried rice for lunch, and an elegant dessert, with guava & berry compote. The ingredients were so fresh, and every bite was delicious! Margarita's hospitality was wonderful, and she went into well considered detail about the process & describing the ingredients we might be able to substitute at home if needed.
Her home was so beautiful also. We sat outside in her backyard, had some drinks together, and it was such a perfectly intimate occasion, and definitely one of my highlights for our holiday. Looking forward to making these recipes at home!

An amazing experience start to finish - The best experience we could have asked for to kick off our México City trip. Margarita was a wonderful host. We made delicious traditional dishes and had wonderful drinks in her beautiful home. We cannot recommend this cooking class enough. Truly an amazing experience start to finish.

Wonderful experience with Margarita - Margarita was an amazing host. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time with her and almost could not leave her house. She had a genuine interest for getting to know us and sharing her knowledge about Mexican food and cuisine. The meals we made were simple, yet very rewarding to learn because they were things none of us had made before and could pretty easily recreate at home. She is also trained as a food stylist, so everything from the plates to the table to her house were very pretty! All in all, a great experience. Thank you Margarita!

Best cooking class ever - This was such an amazing experience! Margarita was such a lovely host, great food, great conversation and her home is lovely. We are already talking about joining her again during Día de los Muertos. I have lots of food allergies and Margarita was very accommodating and our food was incredible. 5 stars all around!!!! Do make sure you contact her before the day of so she knows about any food aversions and she can help with directions, as CDMX geography can be a bit tricky.
