A must when visiting CDMX! - My husband and I had a wonderful time with Chef Pam! She not only taught us some unique cooking tips but also shared a wealth of knowledge on the history of Mexican cuisine. The atmosphere was welcoming, fun, and beautiful. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience trying Mexican salsas! - I had a wonderful time with a few friends from different countries. Graciela is an amazing chef and a great host! She took us to the local market and explained everything about the different chiles, fruits and vegetables that are part of the Mexican cuisine. This was my second experience with Aura Cocina Mexicana. I highly recommend it!

Uplifting your spirit! - Amazing! Wonderful! Uplifting! We were a group of 10 women who took the salsa class after a long morning of touring the historical center. Dragging ourselves to the front door of Aura, we were hesitant that we'd make it through the class because we were so tired. But as the door opened, and we were greeted by Graciela's amazing team, our energy increased at each touchpoint. Every detail of the class was executed perfectly, from a welcome sign with all our names, to small bags to hold our masks, to the meticulous set up of each of our cooking places. Graciela was not only super informative and knowledgeable about Mexican cuisine but elegant, gracious and inspirational. The class became a highlight of our trip to Mexico and one we are all carrying in our hearts. This class is much more than learning about salsas, the team at Aura takes their experience and passion to create an emotional connection to each person who enters their doors. Truly something very, very special!!

Best salsa making experience has it all! - Llama Los bomberos! The morning cooking class has it all! Market tour with samples of regional food along the way, visit to flour/corn tortilleria (tortilla shop), and, of course, hands on cooking with the one and only, Graciela. She is kind, witty, and knows her stuff! We learned and laughed our way to making 10 different delicious, traditional salsas of the course of 4 hours (including market tour). We learned techniques for roasting, peeling, and re-hydrating peppers and other veggies. Graciela is sensitive to different likings of spiciness and accommodated our group accordingly. After prepping all of the salsas Graciela’s sous chefs brought out an entire Mexican feast. We had carnitas, cochinita pibil, nopales (cooked cactus), eggs, and more. She taught us the pairings of salsas and various foods. To top it off, we enjoyed quality mezcal, local craft beer, and dessert. I left stuffed. Would highly recommend this class to anyone of any cooking skill level. You just need to love salsa and amazing Mexican food! Muchas Gracias Graciela!!

I couldn’t ask for more! - It definitely exceeded our expectations. You don’t only learn about dishes, recipes and ingredients. It’s way more than a cooking class. It is a cultural experience and Graciela, the chef, has the best energy. Her house is lovely and she is really passionate about what she does. This really makes the difference. It was a gift from me to a friend and we really couldn’t have asked for more! Do you really want to get a taste of México? Book it now! Alessandra

Very interesting and educational with the personal touch - Not the easiest place to find due to street numbers not being in sequence but once inside a really friendly and personal welcome. The whole experience was a joy and I learnt a lot. Would highly recommend

History, food, and fun - I'd been looking for a (relatively) affordable salsa cooking class in Mexico for the whole month we were there and had almost given up until we found Aura. For $45 USD per person it's not cheap, but compared to the $85 USD we'd been seeing we decided it was worth and after going I can definitively say it was worth it. Graciela is very knowledgeable about all things Mexican food, from the history of the cuisine (which I loved hearing about) to the reasoning behind why we work with chiles in specific ways, and very helpful at answering all our questions. We had a lovely time, really enjoyed the tasting meal after, and I can say, with confidence, that I will be able to replicate these recipes at home.

An amazing experience that I want to repeat - Our class was extraordinary. The kitchen was delightful and it an awesome experience that affected all of the senses. Chef Graciela walked us through the history and art of Mexican cooking from pre-Colombian times. It was fascinating. We were taught about the ingredients, the methodology, and made delicious authentic food. The staff were warm and friendly, the classroom was beautiful, the chef charming and gracious. We will be back and I will be recommending this to all of our friends.
