Duration: 6 hours
Cancellation: 1 day learn more
Highlights
  • House of Tiles (Casa de los Azulejos) - Our unique Mexico City tour (say that ten times fast!) starts at a typical Mexican pub called a cantina. Here, you’ll enjoy a couple drinks (at your own expense) and get to know the rest of the travelers on your tour. Most importantly, though, your local Urban Adventures guide will give you a briefing of what’s in store for the rest of the evening, including the basic rules of the eccentric lucha libre.

As we drink, you’ll learn about the story of tequila and mezcal, and your guide will get you up to date on Mexico’s world famous party culture, from mariachis and jarochos to banda music.

  • Plaza Garibaldi - To keep the excitement of the night going, we’ll head to another cantina by the Mexican musician’s square of Garibaldi, where we will experience Mexican Mariachi music and many other Mexican music bands. We’ll enjoy the atmosphere of the square for about an hour before heading out to the arena to support the best “Luchadores” of the country.

Lucha libre (aka Mexican wrestling), is the second-most watched sport in Mexico, and hands down one of the most exciting things you can do while visiting Mexico City. For a truly local experience, we’ll hop on the subway to the Arena Mexico to catch the fight. We’ll get you good seats in the arena so you can truly live the experience and see the best matches of the night.

At the end of this unreal experience, you will have time to buy some souvenirs, like the mask of the best wrestler you saw in the show, so you can take some fun photos with your masks on.

Novice at Lucha Libre! - Great afternoon/evening! Adriana was beyond fabulous and since we were such a small group we bonded and laughed a lot! Enjoyed the Mezcal/ tequila tasting and excellent tacos at place garibaldi!

My best night in Mexico City - This tour was the highlight of an incredible trip to Mexico City! I had so much fun at every step of the way — the tequila and mezcal tasting, listening to mariachi at the cantina, and of course at the Lucha Libre fight. Adriana was the best guide I could have asked for. I learned a lot and had a blast!

The Most Fun Tour You'll Ever Have - I had very high expectations for this tour, but even those were exceeded. We had a few people and we became fast friends. It was truly an unforgettable night our hosts were very passionate and knowledgable about lucha and. We had great seats and it's truly something that makes you feel like a true local. I would take this tour/experience again in a heartbeat!

Jacinto was a great guide - I did this tour last night, led by Jacinto. He was awesome. He has a passion for Lucha Libre and a lot of fun to be around. He schooled us on how to identify good tequila, taught us about mariachi, and yelled his head off at Lucha Libre.

So much Fun! - Tour was amazing. The Wrestling is truly something special. A MUST DO for sure. We had some hiccups on our tours with a few of the guests not bothering to stay with the group and we were constantly waiting for them, but this was definitely not the fault of the guide, who did a fantastic job!! Definitely will recommend this to anyone and everyone!

Wrestling and drink look no further - Having been a life long fan of lucha libre and tequila this was right up our street. The night started with a tip to the tequila and mezqal museum followed by a tasting of both drinks. A small walk over to a cantina followed where we listened to live mariachi music and more drinks before heading off to the arena, the lucha libre is somthing completely different to what you see on the tv and the crowd really added another level to spectacle of what brilliance was in the ring that night our guide for the tour was very enthusiastic, knowledgeable and passionate about all parts of the evening especially the wrestling. Why i rated 4 out of 5 was only because the tickets had said the end point was the same as the pick-up, leading us to assume we would be taken back together, we were not stranded at the arena however our guide ordered us and uber which unfortunately did not show, but there was plenty of pink and white official taxis outside the arena to get us back home

Ehhh. It Was Okay - Firstly, meeting the guide was super sketchy, there was no communication leading up, and we met in a packed area with no way to identify the guide. Second, the guide was a student who knew some about Lucha Libre and Music but not a lot, and was pretty neutral the whole night. We did not tour Mariachi Square, we went straight into a restaurant that was there and was filled with loud Mariachis playing, we couldn't even hear the person next to us, much less order. The food and drinks were fine. We went to the Tequila Museum where the rooftop bar drinks were very bad. The Luca Libre match was pretty fun to experience but the seats were pretty awful and our guide had no enthusiasm for the sport and limited knowledge about it. I think this experience might have been a riot if we were with a big fun group and the guide was super into it, that was just not the case for us. The one other couple in the group wasn't into it either and left early. Too bad. The match was entertaining

A good plan with a messy company - The tour was very bad due to the disarray of the company, we started half an hour late, the guide did not have us on her list. The tour included riding the subway and they didn't do it, instead we walked. As we were late, the passage through Tenampa was accelerated and the arrival to the fight was late. There were 3 of us and we had not bought the tickets for the fight, so the guide bought them from resellers in different locations, 1 of the people was left alone on the third floor so he decided not to enter. A lot of disorder on the part of the company and lack of attention from the guide

No Show and No Answer - Our tour guide was a no show. We tried calling the company and no one answered. There was another tour guide there for a private booking and he tried to contact our guide for us. He never received a response either. We waited about half an hour and then left. I emailed the company for a refund and they will get back to me after they investigate.

IT IS A SCAM - DO NOT BOOK - This is a SCAM. DO NOT BOOK. We waited at the meeting point for several minutes, we even ate at the departure point hoping we’d see a group come in and no one was there. I’m really disappointed and more upset we lost money to this.
