SM de Allende con Checko es Genial! - Our guide Checko was very good in driving and making sure we were comfortable. He walked us through the town plaza, gave us a little history on some of the more important sites and recommended places to shop and eat with ample time to explore on our own. Highly recommend this tour. A day trip for us was enough.

San Miguel de Allende - Visiting San Miguel Allende was a success. Having Juan Carlos as our private guide and driver was a great experience. He is very attentive, knowledgeable and he enjoy what he is doing which is a plus for us the customers.
Kudos for Juan Carlos, the next time we will ask only for him.

A pleasant and enjoyable day trip. - Jose was a great guide, a safe driver, courteous and interesting. We don't speak Spanish. His English was sufficient to make for an enjoyable day trip to San Miguel. Thank you Jose!

Pretty good deal - I took the one day trip to San Miguel de Allende from Mexico City. I took like 3 and a half hours to get there. We were an small group, so they use a van to tkae use there. It was ok, but the space between seats was small and that could be unconfortable even for a short person. Our tour guide explain very well every part of San Miguel and then gave us free time so we can explore in our own. I was there on a Saturday, so the city was full of tourist and there was a line everywhere. I think probably is better going in weekedays so you can see the most and even take an small tour in bus around the city.

Full day experience - Our driver was punctual! He was a sweetheart, but definitely not the best tour guide. It felt like an uncle was showing us around, but not very motivated.
We slept on our way there, and on our way back. We were tired from a previous tour the night before.
He stopped by an hour in, for a rest, stop that had restrooms and tons of food options. There was a Buffet style option for like 189 pesos
You grab a tray and they serve you as you go, and you pay at the end. Food was not great. But very clean and big
When we got to the town, he dropped us off for a view, and drove around to pick us up again just because parking wasn’t available. Then he picked us up and took us to this lady that sells Raspados with a Mug from San Miguel de Allende, $45 pesos! That was a cute experience, we also offered to buy him one.
He was good about dropping us off near the church and going to go park. Then met us in front of the church, explained a few of the architecture, but then allowed us to go inside the church on our own.
We aren’t much about extreme detail , but we do love some facts. I guess he felt like we didn’t care much about it, and he didn’t care himself to actually go inside, and explain, like every other tour guy did. I tried just standing around other tour guides to overhear what they were telling their groups.
He tried taking us to the museum, but it was close since it was a Monday. I don’t recommend going on Monday because a lot of things are closed.
He walked us down the street to the convento de las monjas, which was also closed.
And at this point, it was just too much walking and we weren’t able to see anything!
I would definitely give this trip another try! Because the town is beautiful, but it just didn’t feel authentic.
There is definitely a lot of foreigners living there, which just seems like another city in the US for me.
Personally, nothing really stuck out besides actual architecture of the church.
He did take us to an inside shopping area, where he said, things would be a lot more inexpensive. Which I’m sure they probably were but to me this time was just expensive in general. Mainly because theres a lot of foreigners, and it’s a tourist town.
We couldn’t find magnets under 80 pesos
And a lot of things like the handmade sewing of pillowcases or table settings, we’re extremely expensive. And if you aren’t careful, you will be sold machine made versus handmade
You honestly can’t avoid getting over priced. I did refer to our guide when I tried buying a table setting that was a small for 1500, and even he said that was overpriced.
After this, he took us to a candy store
And then try taking us to go eat, but the restaurant was closed
At this point we were just over the whole trip
It felt like we just walked for nothing
So we asked him to just drive back to the city, and stop by any other restaurant we saw on our way
We decided to stop at this Taqueria called amor y tacos. The food was great, nothing amazing. But the restaurant itself was very clean
He drove us back to our hotel. Maybe around 8ish or nine-ish I can’t remember.
The day of the trip, I assume we were the only ones that booked so he did take us in a personal car.
We felt like he could’ve made up the trip by taking us elsewhere nearby but I felt like he was very lazy and unmotivated. We didn’t get a full experience.

Rin - I applied the English tour.
The driver picked us at our hotel on schedule and he was so nice.
We thought that he took us to the meeting point to join the tour but after all, the tour was pritate.(Maybe no tourists except us on the day)
He couldn't speak English and we couldn't speak Espanish. That's why we couldn't communicate with him. He started driving without introducing himself and the schdule so we didn't know he was not only a driver but also a guide. He tried to guide using a translator but it took so long time . That made us feel stress. When we arrived in San Miguel, we asked him to walk around by ourself freely.

Not Recomended - This is basically a taxi service. Do not expect anything else.
A/C - No air conditioning
I do not recommend buying this tour unless you all you need a ride to and from.

Ruined the City - While the city of San Miguel de Allende is beautiful, this tour was abominable and soured the experience. We were rebooked to this tour bc a previous tour group cancelled due to COVID. In rebooking, we specifically asked for an English-speaking tour guide. What we got instead was a man that texted into his phone, which then translated into English, and that was just at the start of the trip. When asked if we at least had a tour guide to see the city and churches, at least, he emphatically nodded and said “yes”. When we got to the city, there was no tour guide prepared. It took him an hour to find someone to give us a tour, and by that time the churches were closed. The actual tour guide he found was great, but we didn’t see anything. The only part of the trip I enjoyed was seeing what I could on our own and then going home. This is such a shame because the city itself is beautiful. I would recommend booking a train ride and tour guide on your own rather than utilizing this tour.
