Great tour. Phenomenal guide! - This tour was the highlight of our week in Mexico City, far surpassing the other Viator tour we did this week. The sites were all wonderful, but the real value here was our extraordinary guide, Alex. His passion for the Mexican and Aztec culture and history was profound and infectious. He went above and beyond what I have ever experienced with a guide: he brought and shared binders of his own material - photos, diagrams, illustrations - to supplement his fascinating talks at each stop. More than once, an official standing nearby had to nudge Alex to wrap it up as another group was approaching the space, much to the dismay of our enraptured group. Not only was Alex knowledgeable and passionate, he was personable and accessible. He made sure we all knew he was always available for questions, and each time I posed additional questions I got an engaging conversation with someone who genuinely loves the subject and is eager to share. What a treat - and what a gem of a guide Alex is. My only complaint was a the usual tourist trap stop, where we were stuck with a different "guide" who treated us to 40 minutes of drawn out explanations of weaving and obsidian and tequila, all laced with incessant junior high bathroom humor and a request to buy lots of trinkets to support her and her colleagues. However, the lunch that followed this waste of time tourist trap was quite good! It was nice to relax for an hour in a nicely tree-shaded outdoor restaurant and enjoy the chicken in chocolate mole recommended by Alex! Overall, an excellent day, and the tourist trap drawback was not enough of a detractor to reduce my full endorsement of five stars.

Alicia was a fantastic guide - Although you could easily do a half day tour to the temples, adding on Tlatelco brought great history and Alicia had so much good information about the indigenous peoples of Mexico. We felt like there was too much time at the Guadalupe shrine but the right amount at the temples. Lunch was also delicious and it was fun to do all the liquor tasting. Inside the restaurant there was also an indigenous dance and mariachi player. Great ambiance.

Great guide, timing off - The guide , Sergio, was very knowledgeable about history. Funny, helpful. Great guide. He gets a 5. However, we were rushed through the basilica tour and ran out of time to see the museum and third pyramid at teotihuacan because a group from the English speaking group had to join us. We were in the Spanish speaking group. The company oversold the English tour. This caused delays as they had to coordinate . I believe this is why we ran out of time. Another suggestion, spend less time at souvenir shops to allow more time at pyramids. Again, I think we did never were waiting for the people from the other group.
