Great tour! - For scheduling reasons, My mom and I needed the afternoon half day private tour. Ligia was an amazing, knowledgeable and friendly guide, explaining the history and context of Teotihuacan and even adding in a few stops around the city on our way there. Communication with Amigo tours was a breeze, recommend!!

Magical place - We visited 3 sites - Plaza de Tres Culturas, the Basilica of Santa Maria Guadalupe and finally and most importantly Teotihuacan. The time at Teotihuacan also include anTequila tasting- which was only ok- as well as lunch. Which was adequate. Teotihuacan itself is amazing. Words can’t really describe it so I won’t try. You simply have to go and experience the energy and the mystery of this magical place! The tour operators were excellent. Our guides Alice and Alan were fantastic as was our bus driver!

Ask for Sal! You won’t regret it! - Sal was a great tour guide! Give Sal a raise. He was very knowledgeable and charming. The pyramids were one of the most incredible things I’ve ever seen and I’m glad I was shown by Sal. My only complaint was that perhaps the basilica tour was much more geared towards practicing Catholics than it was towards people who enjoy history but I understand that’s a tenuous rope to walk. If I were to do this again I’d probably skip that part or any part associated to Catholicism.

Value for money — Alexa is the best guide! - We booked the 12:45 pm pickup but the tour operators had to cancel it & booked us into the “sunrise” option & we couldn’t be more grateful because Mexico City is in a seasonal heat wave & the afternoon tour would have been brutal. We also lucked out getting an amazing tour guide, Alexa and the driver Carlos. Both were fantastic! Alexa in particular was detail-oriented in giving us historical data; she carried a folder with reconstructed images, and a whiteboard to draw & explain pyramid constructions. Because we left early enough in the morning, the weather allowed us to walk the Avenue of the Dead & to climb the Pyramid of Quetzalcoatl (the only climbable pyramid). The tequila tasting and the gift shop were quite good to buy some souvenirs. Only the lunch was so-so—but we were spoiled by the great food in Mexico City that this tourist-oriented restaurant felt like a letdown. But otherwise, this was an exceptional experience and I recommend it highly if you are looking for a guided visit to the Teotihuacan pyramid complex. You will luck out if you get Alexa as a guide!

Super Interesting & Informative - Geo, our tour guide was so knowledgeable and nice. She took tons of pictures for us and everyone had an amazing time at the pyramids. We all learned so much! Pedro the driver got us there quickly and the van was nice and new. Our only complaint was that after the pyramids we went to a place that explained artisanal crafts - also very interesting- but after the demonstrations and drinks there was a gift shop and the workers seemed quite pushy and the prices seemed to fluctuate dramatically based on interest. Some people in my group felt this part was a bit of a shake down. Overall Geo was lovely and we had a fabulous time.

Last minute tour cancellation left us high and dry - The tour operator cancelled the tour with no advance notice. I only learned the trip was cancelled after calling to find out why no one from Amigo Tours was at the meeting spot. They haven't automatically refunded me the cost of the trip and I am still waiting for the refund. It's a real disappointment because we have no other opportunity to go to Teotihuacan. Had we known in advance we could have made other arrangements.

No show. No refund. Difficult communication. - NO SHOW! I booked via Trip Advisor and receive ticket and confirmation. I arrived at the pick up location 15 min before pick up as instructed. I waited 40 min. No show. I called the number on the ticket and it did not work. I emailed the operator via trip advisor. No response. I called trip advisor customer service and after holding was connected to tour operator. It was very difficult to communicate ( lang barrier) she seemed to convey that they did not have tours scheduled for the day I booked. I asked for a refund. She did not comprehend. I put my danish speaking travel partner and he could not get any useful information. I requested a refund via tour site. No reply.
