100% do it! - A top ten day in my life. The beauty is surreal. Well guided and the tour provided everything we could need. Water shoe rental, waterproofing case for phone, head lamp for caves, towels, breakfast, dinner and snacks. It a long day, 6:30 am meet up and back at 9-9:30 at night but every minute out of the van was well timed and navigated to the best use.

Great customer service, prompt arrival and departure, and a safe and fun day of traveling. - Reuban was an excellent tour guide, incredibly friendly with a positive demeanor, and always happy to help translate something and answer questions. He and Carlos our driver got us there and back without issue and I felt safe and well taken care of as a woman traveling solo. Thank you so much!

If you’re looking for something off the beaten path, this is your tour! - Ada was our guide. She was the best!! Very attentive and fun! She gave us plenty of time to enjoy ourselves and took us to try some traditional foods along the way. Las Grutas itself were amazing! From the views, to the water color & temperatures. It is truly a hidden paradise! It was a unique experience. We loved everything an our this tour!

Amazing!!!!! - Cristian was an amazing tour guide. Went above and beyond. He was so helpful and even answered all my questions about Mexican history. He was incredibly knowledgeable. The locations I went to were some of the most beautiful I have ever seen in my trips around the world.

.Grutas de Tolantongo What an Experience - The best thing about this trip was coming into this place and seeing all the waterfalls, river, pools and getting to go into all of them. It was a long ride but worth every minute of it. We went into caverns with water coming down on you, climbed steps to go to higher ground, sat in pools of warm water, in fact the whole time you were in warm water.

It is a long & bumpy... - It is a long & bumpy journey in a small minibus. Warm clothes would have been better in January, the time we visited, as the air temperature wasn't that warm in the mountains. The guide could have provided more information during the journey which would have added interest.

Great location - The location - caves, waterfalls, pools, river was fantastic. Must-visit place. Hardly any options for vegetarians at the lunch stop. Better to carry some eatables. If you use prescription glasses, be careful with it when you go to the caves

NOT A GOOD DAY TRIP. 9 HOURS IN FULL VAN WITH LOUD MUSIC. - Picked up from a hostel 20 min from where I was staying at 6:00am. Didn’t get to the water until 11:15am due to a 30 min breakfast stop and a long trip over. The entire way there was very loud mariachi music playing in the full van. The host did not mention what we can and cannot bring to the caves, and we were turned away at the entrance for having fanny packs and reusable water bottles. Had to spend 150 pesos on a locker or put our things on a shelf where everyone passed by. There were 26 PEOPLE IN OUR PROMISED “SMALL GROUP TOUR”. That means waiting for 26 people to eat, use restrooms, load into vans, counting on them to be on time to return home. Enjoyed the caves and pools 100%. Absolutely should NOT be a day trip and do not recommend as such. If you go and want any photos, buy a necklace waterproof phone case. Left at 3:30pm to get back, with a 20 min food stop along the way, and got back at 8:30pm to the hostel. Then another 30 minutes back to where I was staying. That made over 9 HOURS IN A FULL VAN with loud music playing the whole way. Again, should not be a day trip. Recommend staying overnight there instead.

Too long for a day trip - You are paying for transportation and this is too long for a day trip. If you rented a car, you could easily go here yourself. The drive back to CMDX was well over 4 hours with traffic.
