Simply Awesome - Short review: Just do it, you won't regret it! Long review: When travelling we try to find a way to get to know and experience the local culture, people and food. That isn't always that easy if you do not know anyone to begin with. Finding someone you can trust, who understands what you are looking for and at the same time has the know-how, connections and willingness to open up and show you his or her country as authentically as he or she knows it can be tricky. We got Abdul's number from a friend who had booked with him a while back when he was working for an agency. Little did we know that he has started own project in the meantime. So we were a bit wary. Trust is a big part of making the decision to embark on a journey together. However we felt pretty comfortable with Abdul very quickly and were rewarded in the best way possible. We travelled with him for three days, met his friends, learned how to bake sand bread, camped beneath the stars, heard them play songs and sing beside the open fire and experienced the trip of a lifetime. If you are looking to experience the Sahara lifestyle authentically, sleep in a sleeping bag beneath the night sky or in a tent, meet great and open-minded people, enjoy local food then this is definitely for you. Abdul is super helpful and will always stay in contact to make sure everything is ok, should he not be present. He is an unbelievably committed and hard working individual. If you are looking more luxury in the way of accommodation and alcohol, then this may not be for you. However, you will either pay a lot more or travel in a big group. This tour offers a unique experience you will not forget and even more importantly you will be travelling with locals, that really want to share their life and style with you.
