Culture Connoisseur
I am a traveler driven by cultural experiences, from museums to botanical gardens to Mayan Ruins, anywhere I can learn something new. I love taking my family to places where there are completely different cultural customs, the best way to learn perspective and even compassion.
I would spend my perfect day in Miami with the 8:30 Flywheel class with Dwayne, then a cold-pressed green juice at Jugo Fresh, a few hours at my office, then lunch outside at Mandolin, a documentary film at O Cinema in Wynwood, dinner at Lucali Pizza with my husband and three kids and then a drink at The Freehand in Miami Beach. If you get a chance, go to the beach at dawn or dusk and enjoy the most romantic setting in Miami.
If I was visiting Miami I would stay at the Soho Beach House or the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
1. The Bass Museum, for its historical and contemporary collections.
2. A private tour of The Kampong tropical botanical garden.
3. The Bal Harbour Shops. World-class!
1. Mandolin: Everything on the menu is incredible.
2. MC Kitchen: The best Italian in Miami.
3. Lucali Pizza, Miami Beach: My favorite is the pizza with shallots.
1. Juvia: Enjoy lunch or dinner there and soak in the excellent views.
2. The Rubell Family Collection: Amazing contemporary art.
3. Vizcaya: It's a National Historic Landmark with stunning gardens!
1. Michel Contessa: It has the best selection of French, Italian and American mid-century modern furniture.
2. Gallery Diet: A beautiful contemporary art gallery in Wynwood.
3. Fifi's: Totally low-key place at North Miami Beach, but the best fresh fish!
The place I'm most excited to go next is Morocco, where I'll spend a night camping in the Sahara at Le Red Sand, which will be a completely new experience and landscape from what I have ever seen. I am also itching to go to Vietnam and Cambodia at the moment, but something new hits the top of my list almost every week.
