XXXX Brewery tour - I recently went on the XXXX Brewery tour with Paul, and it was a fantastic experience! Paul’s deep knowledge about the brewery and its history really stood out unsurprising, given how long he’s worked there. His expertise was matched by his sense of humor; his dad jokes had everyone laughing, which paired perfectly with the laid-back vibe and, of course, the beer! The tour was informative and fun, and the tasting session was a definite highlight. I’ve officially found a new favorite in XXXX Gold! To top it all off, the burgers at the end were absolutely delicious, the perfect way to wrap up a great tour. If you’re a beer lover or just looking for a fun and informative activity, I highly recommend this tour. Paul’s enthusiasm and humor made the experience memorable. Cheers! 🍻

4 stars for XXXX - XXXX is a Brisbane icon & rightly so. I work 5 mins walk away in Milton & live in Brisbane just up the road (and used to work in a craft brewery!) so I was committed to finally do the brewery/alehouse tour & signed up with a friend in August 2024. It was Saturday (there are tours from 11-2pm on the hour) & Zack was our guide for the 1.5 hr tour. The tour was comprehensive starting with a history of beer & how beer is made (water, malt hops, yeast etc), the 140+ year history of XXXX, followed by a tour of the brewery (Originally the Castlemaine Perkins brewery), warehouse & canning factory. We were required to wear closed in shoes, eye glasses & a high vis safety vest (provided) Wednesday morning is apparently the best time to do the tour as it’s when the assembly line/canning/bottling factory is guaranteed to be running (it’s closed on the weekends) At the end you end up at the ale house/ bar area where you get free beer to taste (you can try the wooded keg beer) & get to chat & socialise with the other people on the tour. We drank with another group of locals/Brisbanites & my friend ordered a burger for lunch. I learned plenty in the tour, some of the highlights being: -Lion, the company that owns XXXX also owns James Squires (one of my favourites) -the team used to have a free beer for lunch & knock off back in the day but this was scrapped due to health and safety - the drivers/warehouse staff do alcohol testing before/after starting work -the Breakfast Creek Tavern in Hamilton is the only pub that still serves XXXX beer in wooden kegs which happened in 1977 by petition to Bob Hawke -the first beer brewed in 1878 only had three Xs; the XXXX came later

Waited too long to finally do this! - We did the tour for my son’s 20th birthday with some mates. It was fabulous. Our guide Ken was sensational and had been in the XXXX family his whole life. My son got to spike the wooden keg and then we all got to enjoy the best beer in the world

Well worth a visit! - What a great way to spend a couple of hours, doing the XXXX tour in Brisbane. So very informative. It starts with getting your safety instructions and watching a short movie which covers the history of the place, then we are off to show you exactly how things are done. The staff are so very knowledgeable and friendly, so glad we did this. At the end there is the added bonus of getting to try a few of the beers - included in the price. Enjoyed it all and would certainly recommend.

Great experience even if you are not a lover of beer - The tour was a great experience. It was very educational. I went with my partner and 2 year old. The tour guide and the staff were very friendly. Recommend to purchase the meal with the tour. The only thing they need to improve on is their communication prior to the tour as I sent a number of emails and called a few times with no response

Enjoyable, fun tour!!! - Tour was good with an interesting and engaging guide. It was a shame as the part of the factory we toured wasn’t running on the Friday we visited - I wish I’d known before that it only runs Monday-Thursday as I would have gone on one of those days instead. The tasting was great at the end though and it was still an enjoyable visit.

Tour is best for Wed and Thu when operating. - Interesting Saturday tour with burger. Would be much better on a Wed or Thu when it is operating. The history of the beer and the brewery were interesting. Refreshments were generous. We'll be going again.
