Amazing guides and wonderful canyon! - Amazing guides, who managed to teach us some tricks and motivated our son and daughter to jump off the rocks with a front flip.
Would redo any time!!

Great experience - It was my first time canyoning, and it was amazing.
As it was a weekday, I could book the experience the night before. We traveled from Nagano-ken during the morning and experienced Fox Canyon by afternoon. It was a good choice for first-timers.
Our guides (Alex and Toshi) were great, they explained everything and made us feel safe during all the experience. Alex was very patient and calmed me down when I was scared.
All the staff at the base were very receptive, giving us a good vibe.

Adventuring in picturesque scenery out of Japan's big cities - As a Kiwi living in Japan, I had heard about Canyons and its founder Mike Harris many times, but hadn't had the opportunity to visit Minakami itself. My husband and I had done some canyoning informally, but definitely wouldn't call ourselves experienced. The level was perfect- challenging but not too difficult, and super fun overall. Part of what made the experience was the instructors (both expats and Japanese who were young but experienced and professional), and the other group participants with whom we built great camaraderie. We very much enjoyed the trip overall, though next time would rent a car to travel to Minakami as the public transport options were infrequent and there was a lot to see off the beaten path that trains and buses didn't allow us access to.

Challenge, excitement and great memories! - We went to Canyons only intending to do one canyoning trip but we loved it so much we went back and experienced the next canyoning experience that we unlocked. The canyons are breathtaking, the water is crystal clear and the abseiling, sliding and jumping into the gorges was challenging and exciting. The guides were supportive and a lot of fun. Much of the time, we found ourselves laughing. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Canyons and cannot recommend it enough! We created so many fabulous memories that we will carry with us forever!

Amazing thrills and memories made!!! - We did the Tomoki-Ko Cayon tour and my roommate and I loved it! The guides were amazing, friendly, and really knew their stuff. Our group had an amazing time. We can't to do this again on our next trip. If you are in Toyko and love a good thrill ride, you owe it to yourself to come here!!!

Do this adventure!! - Canyons were beautiful and the tour guides takes photos for and of ou. Group photos, solo photos the experience was great! Very safe and also engaging, options for various thrill levels. And great if you have a car. English speaking guides available, and soup and water after!

Even better a second time! - Did the Fox Plus Canyon once as a group trip in October, and a second time as a couples trip in August. Despite it being the same route, the difference in temperature, and (stronger) water conditions made it a super thrilling and fun experience a second time round. Highly recommend as a couples trip if you’re the outdoors type or a group of friends trip if you’re about the same thrill and outdoorsy level!
Big highlight of this place is the all in one accommodations. Advanced reservations can get you lunch/dinner served, and we also opted to spend a night in the waterfront tents by the river and it’s relaxing and peaceful. Super convenient, the burgers were delicious, and at our second stay they served bomb breakfast burritos.
