- Shimbashi Station - In 2015 I lived out a longtime dream to come to Japan. That’s also when I decided to buy a ‘real’ camera for the first time hoping to get some great travel photos as a keepsake. - Shimbashi Station - In 2015 I lived out a longtime dream to come to Japan. That’s also when I decided to buy a ‘real’ camera for the first time hoping to get some great travel photos as a keepsake. Fast forward several years, many stories and I live here now and I haven’t stopped taking photos since. I’m now a professional photographer making a living off of what I love to do and I want to show you this magical city of Tokyo and how to photograph it.
I also run one of the largest Meetup groups for creatives in the city so connecting with people is huge passion of mine.
This is NOT just a tour. Of course, you’re going to see some places you will never find on your own but I’ve been photographing some of these places for years from unique view points and I want to pass on that knowledge to you.
We’re going to discuss basic topics like settings, lenses and other gear including LED’s, prisms, etc. But we’ll also cover more advanced topics including street shooting philosophies, what to look for, framing and how to use the things in your environment to take your photos from ordinary to real art you can be proud of.
Have a look at my online portfolio at denizdemir.photos and I hope to see you in Tokyo!

Our journey will largely unfold in Yurakcho / Shimbashi region, a location I profoundly adore for street photography. If you opt for the evening tour during weekdays (post 17:00), you’ll be treated to an exclusive salaryman experience, something you wouldn’t encounter anywhere else globally. It would provide an opportunity for us to delve into the facets of Japanese work life and why such areas, amongst others, are pulsating with life. You might even find ourselves on a rooftop ;)
