A MUST! - What an amazing day! My guide, Jose picked me up early!!! and asked me to pick one of three appetizers and one of three entrees. I chose cerviche and a beef dish. On the way to the market, I got to ask all sorts of questions about life in Peru. The market was great- Jose showed me all sorts of fruit and vegetables that I'd never see before. As we walked, looked and chatted, our chef, Nindi went around and bought the ingredients for our lunch. At the kitchen, Jose and I chopped and and talked while Nindi supervised. All the fruits we'd seen in the market were there for me to taste. Great meal, great conversation. After a leisurely lunch, they introduced me to Filippe who was my guide for the walking tour. Again, a wonderful afternoon full of all sorts of interesting sights, information and conversation. We pretty much covered all of old Lima, stopped for a coffee when we were ready for a rest. I learned about architecture, history, religious ceremonies and a lot more that I haven't yet digested. All together a wonderful way to get a "taste" of Lima in a short time. I especially liked Haku Tours. They are a non-profit tour company which gives back to their community with money and time. Their employees spend time each month working with soup kitchens, schools, etc. Impressive organization.

Very well arranged, super nice guide - We had great time throughout the tour. For the morning city tour, Nicolas was our fantastic guide who showed his great love to his country and city, he clearly knows everything about it. The tour was with small 6 people group and he was taking good care of everyone. We definitely saw the best of the historical city. The afternoon tour was great too. Our guide Filipe and chef Mindy were super stars. The market visit was very authentic and fun. We saw great deal of varieties of local products and later tasted the indigenous fruits fresh from the market. The cooking class gave a good glimpse into the Peruvian food. We got to choose from options of Peruvian starters and mains, cook and enjoy them. The communication and logistics during the day were also perfectly easy. Overall great experience, will definitely recommend it!

Great day out with personal chef - We had chef Roberto with us at the market, then at a private house with outdoor kitchen for preparing a few Peruvian dishes for lunch. Great conversation and shown cooking techniques with recipes provided. Haku Tours excelled themselves with this tour, combined with their social responsibilities and charity work, I greatly admire them and recommend them.

Full day cooking class and City Tour - We signed up for the 8 hour City tour and cooking class and we were so happy with all parts of it. We were picked up at our hotel and had a "private" (just the two of us) market tour and cooking experience. Richard was our guide and I forget the name of our Chef but they were both amazing. Spoke very good English, happily answered our questions and chatted with us about everything and anything we wanted. Experiencing the market through the eyes of a local was a great experience and the food we cooked was phenomenal. We then changed guides and Marco Polo (yes, his real name!) took us to pick up two other people and then toured us around the Old City. This was also a fantastic experience as I feel it would have been overwhelming to do on our own. In areas we saw other tour groups with as many as 25-30 people and it was great to have such a small group - again for the personal aspect of being able to ask questions, spend more or less time on what we found interesting or not, etc. Highly recommend Haku Tours.

What a great day! - We were so impressed with the entire tour, especially when we found out it was a non-profit that gives back to the community! It was great being in a small group (2 couples) with the guide and chef going through the market buying food for our cooking. We had a chance to taste a dozen fruits I'd never heard of...make salsas, ceviche, a traditional beef dish... so much food! The city tour was informative and just right for walking.

Amazing food and company!! - The cooking tour was super informative and interesting. It included a trip to the market to learn about the culture and where a lot of the food was from. Tour guide Jonathan and Chef David taught us some of the famous dishes of Peru including a ceviche recipe, chili salsa and trying a lot of the tropical fruits. Afterwards was a walking tour which we learned a lot about the city and the culture with a tour inside a monastery. It was an amazing day to see the city of Lima in a short amount of time and would definitely recommend!!!

Haku Tours is a WIN-WIN - If you want to explore Lima without a doubt just go and take a tour with Haku Tours. They are a group of very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful and enthusiastic people. Taking any Tour with Haku provides the WIN-WIN outcome. You take a very carefully planned and interesting tour and at the same time you help less fortunate people of Lima. A part of a tour expenses is contributed to Haku charity work that is helping to lift up Lima’s poorest areas and people. Thank you Haku for making my stay in Lima very memorable.
