The sun was just beginning to peek over the horizon as I made my way to Mismaloya Beach, a place that has long been on my radar. Known for its cinematic history and natural beauty, it was the perfect spot for a paddleboard adventure. As a professional surfer, I’ve spent countless hours on the water, but the promise of exploring the arches of Mismaloya had me buzzing with excitement.

Upon arrival, I was greeted by Edson, our guide for the day. His enthusiasm was infectious, and his knowledge of the area was impressive. We started with a quick lesson on the beach, covering safety and the basics of stand-up paddleboarding. Even for someone like me, who is no stranger to the ocean, it was a great refresher.

With the lesson behind us, we set off on our boards, the morning sun casting a golden glow on the water. The paddle out to Los Arcos de Mismaloya was serene, the only sounds being the gentle lapping of the waves and the occasional call of a seabird.
