Beautiful day trip to the mountains - Alex is a great guide, knows so much, and answers all the questions, on top of that he’s the owner and the guide so you are supporting a small, local business. We had a private tour and switched up some of the itinerary upon request. He managed the expectations perfectly. Views were amazing, car was spacious, clean and comfortable. Also, it’s just beautiful out there.

We had a wonderful day. - We had a fabulous day touring the Dolomites and seeing the beauty of the region. Alessandro was a wonderful guide and obviously loves the area he works in. The snow mobile was a highlight as was the lovely lunch we had. But overall it was the beauty of the region. Thanks for a great Christmas experience.

Amazing Trip and would highly... -
Amazing Trip and would highly recommend.

I booked this tour for myself and my girlfriend on New Years Eve whilst we were visiting Trento. From the moment of booking Alex was great at keeping in contact with us and answering the many questions we had for him prior to the trip.

We agreed to meet him in Bolzano which was around 1 hour away from Trento, Alex turned up right on time and made it easy to spot him with a green flag out of his car. We then began our journey together to Misurina Lake and had plenty of chances to stop and take photos, the view of the Three Peaks of Lavaredo was beautiful. Alex had an impressive knowledge of the whole area which he was happy to share with us also answering lots more questions that we had.

We arrived at the lake and stopped for a coffee and a bite to eat before heading up to Rifugio Auronzo. The place where we got on the snowmobile was incredibly busy and would have been very hard to navigate not speaking Italian with the crowds, but Alex saw us right on to the snowmobile himself, making sure we were safely on our way and that the driver knew we wanted sledges for the return journey. The accent on the snowmobile was so much fun, it took us around 20 minutes to get to the top.

The views from the top were just stunning, they exceeded every expectation we had. The cafe at the top was open but we did not go in as we took a camping stove to have our own hot soup and tea, we spent around 2 hours up there admiring the scenery. We then began our decent on the sledges, which was a lot of fun! It took us around 45 minutes to reach the end of the sled run and we were going pretty fast. Watch out for the snowmobiles though as they will not move out of the way for you and may take slight pleasure in running you off the track.

It was unclear if we could get a snowmobile back from the end of the sledging point to the lake, so we ended up walking the rest of the way which took around 30 minutes. It was not an easy walk but doable if you are able bodied. When we reached the lake Alex was there waiting to greet us. There is a lovely souvenir shop by the cafe and we had a peruse in there for half an hour, they have a huge collection of knives ranging from kitchen to bushcraft.

When it was time to leave Alex gave us the choice of two different routes home, one was slightly longer than 2.5 hours but he said it would be worth it, it was. The roads where less touristy and provided lovely views, passing many historic ski sites which he told us all about. We then arrived back at the location where we had left the car all day for free in Bolzano.

I must admit we thought we were booking a snowmobile tour of the Dolomites but it was very much a driving tour with a snowmobile ride at the half way point. This didn't matter in the end because we had such a wonderful day out. I think the fact that it was just the two of us plus Alex made it extra special, we didn't have to accommodate other groups and it was tailored to our desires all day.

All in all if you want a private tour in Italy whether it be this or one of one the many other activities that are available, Alex is the man to go with. He's pleasant, reliable and most of all trustworthy! I will definitely be contacting him again when I next visit in the summer months.

Top 5 Tips for Snowmobile Tour
1-Take warm waterproof clothes. Alex did have some for loan
2-Take a camera.
3-Take sun cream.
4-Sledge back down!
5-Take dry clothes for after sledging. you can run off the track into waist deep snow

His name is Alex and you are in for a fantastic day if you are blessed to have him conduct your private tour. The first part of our trip was driving to the snowmobile and sled ride. We had a ball and enjoyed beautiful scenery at the top. The second part of our day was traveling the Great Dolomite Road. The mountain tops and valleys of this region are indescribable. We stopped for photos, lunch, and a bit of shopping here and there. I can tell you with Alex providing suggestions and sharing his knowledge of the history of the area - we enjoyed an exceptional and memorable day in the Dolomites. Big ciao Alex!!! Mary and Amy
