Beautiful grounds - We just paid an admission of $5 to get into the park. We had our dog with so we didn't buy tickets to tour the ship interior. But I would note that there are kennels available for dogs if we had decided to tour the ship. We enjoyed our walked around the exhibits and memorials located throughout the park and the walk down the pier. It is a beautiful park. I have no doubt that the ship would have been a good tour also.

Take you're time, so much to see - We spent several hours here, if you can take your time and go through all the walkways. There is a lot of details to see but easy to miss if you just skim through.

Great Experience - For those who enjoy military history, this is a must see but be prepared to walk a lot. There’s static displays of aircraft, a museum, a submarine you can walk through, and the battle ship itself the USS Alabama.

Be thankful - Teaching children about history is one of the only ways we can avoid making the same mistakes generations made before. People should learn our countries history and celebrate the lives of the people that fought for us.

Don’t miss this! - This is an excellent military park. There are several attractions, so I suggest starting with the sub, looking at the planes, and then checking out the USS Alabama. Don’t forget your AAA card for a discount on your ticket. We spend about 2 hours here - we explored almost everything, but didn’t have time in our travel day to read all there was to learn. The sub was interesting and reminded me of the respect I have for those who live in such confined spaces and under stressful conditions! There was a patrol boat next to the sub, and a small memorial under repair. The airplane hangar has a variety of planes along with writing about their history. I enjoyed the personal stories included. I was shocked to see the photos of the hangar after Hurricane Katrina! I wondered if the boats (displayed on land) also were disturbed or moved. Lastly, I have been on Battleships before, but NEVER of this size or with such an in depth walk through. The volunteers and staff are very helpful, so be sure to visit the Battleship’s reception/museum/restroom area to get acquainted and to hear how to process with your guided tour. If you are able to climb ship type ladder stairs, you will be shocked at how many levels you get to explore! If you can only safely tour the main deck, you still won’t be disappointed! The 16” guns are massive and intimidating to imagine firing.
