A thousand thumbs up. Easily the BEST day of our 10 days in Italy. - Okay Im going to copy and paste parts of this review a few times as we did many things at this Acetaia. We stayed there 8 days. It was INCREDIBLE. Like I can't even put into words how great and how much I miss them now that we are home. Barbara the owner is literally the greatest person on the planet. Since this is officially about the pasta class I say It was best day of our trip and best food and we visited 6 cities. We learned so much from Barbara and she loves teaching. She loves helping. She loves being a mom and grandma. You really do feel like part of her family. To say I will send her Christmas cookies for the rest of my life is an understatement of our love and gratitude for her.If you can take Barbara's pasta making class don’t hesitate. She was amazing x 1000. So kind. So informative. So authentic. From start to finish of our 8 days we were taken care of. Our flight was delayed and we arrived many hours post check in. She didn’t mind and even had pizza waiting. The house is about 3 miles to the train. So mot walkable. But she helped us call a taxi (only 2 in town) or drove us. But a car is probably preferable. No noise. No TVs. Wonderful. The rooms were great and bathroom was huge by European standards. But really it was the ultimate kindness this family showed ours that made this stay worthwhile times 100. Barbara even drove us to her favorite ice cream shop. Everything is a short train away. 20 min to Bologna. 20 to Modena 30 to Parma. Hour to Florence. 2 hours to Venice. The location is awesome. Its a farmhouse so expect roosters as your alarm clock. But it doesn’t get more authentic than this Acetaia. A thousand thumbs up.

Absolute best culinary experience EVER!! - This was the best cooking class and overall culinary experience my chef friends and I had on our 2 week Italy vacation. Barbara is the sweetest woman ever and an amazing cook and teacher. Her daughter, Sofia, is also so so kind and incredibly knowledgeable. The pasta making portion of the day was super fun and while Barbara cooked for us, Sofia gave us a tour of her and her family's incredible collection of balsamic vinegar. Sofia's passion and love for traditional balsamic vinegar of Modena and local Italian culture made the experience that much better. Afterwards, we had a long leisurely lunch of Modenese classics including lambrusco, cheese and gelato in addition to the pasta we made. They use only the highest quality ingredients which only added to why the food was out of this world delicious. We are 100% returning next time we are in Italy!
