Something different to do, a wonderful experience, we loved it - Friday 16th January we booked ourselves on a submarine trip from the Puerto Mogán. We had to turn up 20 minutes before departure to confirm the booking, collect our tickets and headsets. Throughout the voyage there was a running commentary, available in 9 languages, this was accompanied by some fitting music. We boarded the vessel, the Golden Shark, through one of the two hatches and took our seats by the window. Once the hatch was closed, the submarine submerged and the adventure began. We learnt that the submarine was built in Finland. It has a capacity of 44 passengers and can dive to a maximum depth of 75 metres, the maximum we reached was about 30 metres. The submarine travelled at a speed of 3 knots per hour. It was reassuring to be informed the there was sufficient oxygen in the vessel to last 36 hours. Firstly we sailed into the Atlantis Submarine Park which is Gran Canaria’s first artificial reef and a protected area. It comprised of over 350 structures, made from fibreglass moulds, filled with neutral PH concrete. We sailed by shoals of colourful fish and other marine life, they appears as blobs in the photos as it was a bit merky down there. The visibility was much better in reality, the camera did not capture the best views. From there we passed over two shipwrecks which were teeming with fish and marie life. The trip was a great experience it lasted about 45 minutes and we reached depths of around 30 metres. When the submarine surfaced we were able to exit the hatch and stand on the top part as it returned to the Port. The Crew and Staff were professional and helpful.

Nice ride underwater with some real views - Adventure took 40 minutes. It was quite interesting going underwater with a Submarine. Through the round glass windows we could actually see some fish, a stingray, remnants of some metallic structure, two ancient columns and of course a bit of trash. Audioguide was available in several languages (including English) which was a pre-recorded track, so I'm not sure it perfectly matched what we see. We received cheap, disposable earphones, which I find a waste of resources. Overall I am happy I went to this experience, but I would not call it a must-see.

Everybody loves yellow submarines! - Must do! Anyone wants to live in an yellow submarine?? Shuttle bus from hotel/pick up on time. About 30min drive to sub, but took 60min becourse of pick-ups. Mogan is by far the nicest city on Granca! The submarine is cute, quiet (electric) and smooth. The marina has wc. The sealife not so much to look at… very gray experience in our opinion, but lot of fish. About 300E pp. Bring waterbottle.

A great experience under the sea in a real life submarine. - We loved the experience, 40 minutes is just the right length of time especially for our 4-year old. The ship-wrecks and array of marine life were spectacular to look at from inside the real submarine. Personal earphones were provided for each passenger allowing you to listen to the audio tour in about 8 different languages, including English, German, Spanish and Italian and you get to keep them as a memento. There is also a small LCD screen, per two passengers, that had a live feed of the deck camera, enabling you to witness the descent and resurfacing of the submarine. Lovely staff team who were really helpful and ensured that families were given priority for boarding and safety. The space on board has capacity for 44 people but at no point did the submarine feel crowded. We thought the price to be very reasonable, especially when you think about how much it must cost to run a fully operational submarine and the safety boat on the surface above. The only downside we thought was the selling point of the artificial reef. The advertising made out that there would be an abundance of sea-life amongst the man-made structures, however the ship-wrecks seemed to attract significantly more variety of creatures. Would still recommend to any who are thinking about embarking on a submarine adventure.

A novelty experience at a very high price point - This was informative and the shipwrecks were fascinating. Lots of fish at points but the Great Barrier Reef, this is not. Don’t submerge yourself in this vessel and expect beautiful views of nature - it’s more the novelty of going down than anything else.

Overcharged - Overcharged. Descend and see cloudy wrecks and a few schools of fish did not provide a new experience. Suitable for families with children.

Tourist trap in our opinion! - It is relatively expensive for 40 minutes maximum (including 10 minutes of ascents and descents). We saw practically nothing except a few fish. We really feel like we've been ripped off like the tourists we were. By the way, we were at the Poema del mar aquarium the next day, it cost us a lot less and it was exciting!

Not recommended - I don't recommend it, you don't see anything besides it doesn't surprise anything you see, everything murky and what you have to see is nothing you enjoy
