Snagov Monastery and Mogosoaia Palace are both remarkable architectural treasures of Romania, originating from different historical periods. The Monastery, dating back to the 15th century, showcases original Byzantine frescoes from the 16th century, while the Palace, from the early 18th century, signifies the onset of the Romanian Renaissance.

Snagov Monastery: This monastery is located on an island in the center of Snagov Lake. It is reputed to be the final resting place of the notorious Vlad the Impaler, also known as Dracula. Visitors can cross the bridge to reach the island and explore the church associated with a man infamous for using impalement as his signature.

Mogosoaia Palace: Situated approximately 10 kilometers from Bucharest, this palace was constructed between 1698-1702 by Constantin Brancoveanu in the Romanian Renaissance style, also known as the Brancovenesc style. Over the centuries, the palace has witnessed the tragedy of Brancoveanu’s execution along with his entire family in Constantinople, the romantic escapades of Princess Martha Bibescu, a prominent socialite in 19th century Bucharest, as well as the World Wars and the Communist era. Today, the palace houses the Museum of Brancoveanu Art and serves as a significant tourist attraction. The palace and its gardens are as captivating as its history is intriguing.
