In the afternoon, enjoy game drives, including a visit to the Aruba Dam. This park is renowned for the infamous man-eaters of Tsavo. Tsavo East National Park is home to the legendary “Man-eaters” lions. It was here that hundreds of railway workers were attacked by these creatures around 7:00 pm. The park hosts large herds of elephants migrating from Tsavo West National Park. Other wildlife includes rhinos, buffaloes, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, waterbucks, lesser kudus, gerenuks, and a rich birdlife with 500 recorded species. Visit the Aruba Dam, a popular spot for animals seeking water.
Aruba Dam - This man-made dam, constructed in 1957, provides water for wildlife. It’s an excellent location to observe hippos and other animals.
Tsavo East To Tsavo West National Park
Tsavo National Park West - After breakfast, depart for Tsavo West National Park. Upon arrival, check in for lunch at Ngulia Safari Lodge. Relax at your lodge until 3:00 pm, then embark on a two-hour afternoon game drive. Look out for the maneless lions in the park. Return for dinner and an overnight stay.
Tsavo West is a stunning, rugged wilderness. The ecosystem includes open grasslands, scrublands, acacia woodlands, riverine vegetation, and rocky ridges. Visit the Poacher’s Lookout for a view of the herds on the plains below.
