Great Tour Mombasa! - We had a great time learning about Mombasa and its rich history. We visited Old Town Mombasa, Old Port Mombasa, Fort Jesus, Haller park, where we were able to feed the giraffes, and more. I recommend Bush Pumba Safaris to anyone who wants to get to see the city and learn about its history. The driver and our tour guide were nice and helpful through out the whole tour.

A Wonderful Insight into the History Of Mombasa, An Absolute Must Do Tour! - This is a world class high quality tour covering the main city sites and more of Mombasa. Whilst travellers may choose to explore the city alone, by so doing they forego the opportunity to learn the history, culture, social significance of many of the sites. Thanks to the expertise of my tour guides, Antony and Osmond however, this tour covers in extraordinary depth their background and importance. By so doing I developed a greater appreciation of the sites than if i had explored alone. There is so much to see on this tour, the Elephant Tusk Monument, originally built in 1952 in commemoration of the visit of Queen Elizabeth 2 to Kenya, a nearby park filled with lush tall mango trees, and fruit bats hanging off their limbs, the site for resistance fighters when the British colonised Kenya, and the port area overlooking the ferries, where some 200,000 locals are transported daily as they move to and from their offices during work. The tour took us to the highlight, Fort Jesus, a UNESCO listed site. The Fort is amazing to look at, ancient in appearance, it's walls, floors and ceilings tell the many stories of the battles fought between the Portuguese, Arabs and British to secure the port and it's lucrative spice trade. Magnificent to behold and to listen to it's history. Adjacent to the Fort, is Old Town, passing the first police station, and hotel, it's buildings and paths speak of Mombasa's colonial past, the Spice Market, truly an amazing hive of activity, full of wonderful spices, fruits and vegetables, and the Akamba Handicraft site where one can observe craftsmen, carving figurines solely by simple hand tools, and not a single machine in sight. Our final stop was Haller Park where one can approach the animals up close, waterbucks, hippos, turtles, and more, uncaged in a natural abode. There is an opportunity also to feed the giraffes. And the monkeys are so much fun to watch! My thanks to my tour guides, Antony and Osmond, their knowledge of the city, it's history, culture and politics make this an invaluable tour and a must for anyone visiting Mombasa. Thanks to all for such a wonderful time and tour.

Just OK - The vehicle that was used for our tour is not suitable for more than 4 people and not for long days..it was difficult getting in and out to the extent that we declined to get out at a couple of the anticipated stops. Standing for 20 minutes and listening to long explanations at various stops, left us without enough time to wonder and explore. The guide pointed us to what he wanted us to see and then we were moved along after that especially at Fort Jesus. To be fair, the guide was very knowledgeable and did provide valuable information. Lunch was at our expense, but they never asked us what we wanted to eat, they just took us to a place they wanted to.
