Khustai National Park and Elsen Tasarkhai Sand Dunes
Khustai National Park - Travel to Khustai National Park, where animals thrive in their protected natural environment. This park is home to the once-extinct Przewalski horses, gazelles, red deer, and many other species.
Elsen Tasarkhai - After observing the wild horses, we continue our journey to Elsen Tasarkhai, which means “piece of desert”. This desert stretches for 80km. Before sunset, we will ride camels among the dunes and take in the stunning sunset views.
Tsenkher Natural Hot Spring
Tsenkher Hot Spring - We will drive through a refreshing green pine forest, traverse mountains, and cross small rivers to reach the thermal hot spring. On this day, we will ride horses, visit a local nomadic family, enjoy short hikes in the area, and relax in the natural thermal waters.
Kharkhorin Town
Erdene Zuu Monastery - Our next stop is Kharkhorin, the ancient capital of the Great Mongol Empire. We will visit the Kharkhorin Museum and Erdene Zuu Monastery, the oldest Buddhist temple built in 1585.
Kharkhorin Museum - The museum houses artifacts from the Stone Age and Bronze Age, as well as findings from the four empires that once inhabited the Orkhon Valley, including items from the Great Mongol Empire era.
Ulaanbaatar City
Kharkhorin - On our way, we will make a brief stop at the Empire Walls, which depict maps of the three greatest empires that existed on Mongolian land: the Xiongnu Empire, the Great Mongol Empire, and the Turkic Empire. The hill also offers a spectacular view of the winding Orkhon River basin and a panoramic view of Kharkhorin.
