Great adventure - Our tour guide was excellent. He knows about the history of Dominican Republic. The ride was perfect. We met with monkeys and parrots, tried traditional coffee and chocolates, went to zip lining( you should definitely do number 6 and 7- the highest). Overall excellent experience.

Memorable moments - My wife and I spent a week in Dominican Republic for the first time and we were invited by some friends to attend this excursion. Neither of us have ever done ziplining before and it was the most amazing experience we have ever had. Though terrifying at times we have no regrets. Staff were amazing and friendly and encouraging. Monkey land was so exciting, monkeys crawled all over us while we fed them. And truly indescribable experience and highly recommend both of these excursions - Chris and Alishia

Do not miss - This activity was fantastic. The monkey interaction was very fun and engaging. The monkeys were never forced to do anything they didn't want to do but we got to hold and feed them. We were treated to fresh made coffee, cacao drink and a local spirit. The whole time learning about the history and culture behind these drinks. Our guides were knowledgeable, personable and fun. Floricel was our guide and Emllery was our driver and both did a great job. Floricel know when to speak and add to our adventure and when to let us absorbe all the sights and sounds around us. They both helped to make it such a great experieince.

Good time - The monkeys are very playful and soft. The instructors and very nice and accommodating. The zipline is a great adrenaline rush.

Great day at Monkeyland - We went ziplining in the morning which was great. We felt safe and secure. It was a lot of fun. You put your stuff in a locker for which you pay $5 for a padlock. We gave the padlock back after the zip lines not realising we’d want it again for the monkeys so we paid again. We had a wait on one of the towers because there was no one manning it but it wasn’t a big deal because it was sorted quickly once reported. Lunch was an empanada, a hot dog and some fruit. That was followed by a humorous sales pitch of local produce. The monkeys were absolutely fabulous. They were the highlight of my holiday. All the staff were friendly and informative. Getting all of us to the correct bus was chaotic. We were put on the wrong one then moved when we asked to make sure. That’s the one main criticism really. I definitely recommend this trip.

Best experience - Such a great experience from the moment I stepped into the bus that they provided for us. All of the tour guides were so kind and spoke all kinds of languages. So no problem with translating. Ziplining was so much fun and definitely better than I expected. Monkeyland was also so beautiful and awesome. Super worth the price. And would love to go back as many times as I can. Definitely recommend for everyone !!

Monkey Land and Zip Lines - We had a great day with Monkey Land and zip lining. Our tour glide was Flower, and he was wonderful. So I will start with the negative. Monkey Land was a little less monkeys than I had hoped. The interactions with them were a little limited. There was also a lot of gift shop stops. The last negative was the photographer was a little aggressive on making a sale. But the monkeys were adorable, the guides were great, and the zip lining crew was a lot of fun and very helpful. We had a blast!

Don’t waste your time and money on this unless… - The good: the squirrel monkeys are cute, the guides throw food on you so they climbed all over you. The zip line was decent compared to others I did. One long one (870 yards), took 2 hours. The bad: first one is on me: I thought I was booking Monkey jungle 15 min from Cabarete, realized once we got there is was Monkeyland on the other side of puerto Plata. If you are staying in Cabarete do NOT book this tour: 3 hours to get there, 1hr40” to come back!!! You spent ~ 30 min either the monkeys, for some that my feel enough, but it felt short especially since it ended up being a 10 hr your door to door. The monkeys are in a cage. Not a small enclosure but still small for tens of Monkeys spending their life there. I do not support that kind of treatment. Note that the Monkeys are not native, they are imported. Every step of the way they try to upsell you: pictures package $80!!! (Take your own as much as they let you), shops, artisans, drinks at lunch, etc… photograph was very much insisting, even after a single mother told him why she couldn’t afford it. Be ready for the monkeys to pee and poop on you - not good from a sanitary standpoint. The ugly: the truck is uncomfortable so our back hurts and the gasoline smell was very strong, now we have such a bad headache. The lucky: I would say it was a total waste of a day of vacation, but at least it was rainy in Cabarete and we got lucky that the rain stopped in Puerto plata when we did the zip line and again for the Monkeys! If you are in Puerto Plata, have kids and have never done zip line or approached monkeys, then not a bad options. Otherwise we do not recommend. Our guide Cornelius tried his best. This review does not reflect on him.
