Great Experience! - Leon was amazing! Leon was very prompt with communication in the lead up to the experience and on the day. Picked us up on time and along the journey provided us with his wealth of knowledge of Montego Bay. It was wonderful to see Jamaica’s natural beauty rafting down Martha Brae River, learning about the history, flora and fauna. Highly recommend this experience.

Martha Brae River Rafting Review: A Peaceful Journey Through Nature - Rafting down the Martha Brae River is a must-do experience when visiting Jamaica. It’s the perfect way to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the island while gliding along calm, jade-colored waters. The ride is relaxing, scenic, and gives you a chance to connect with the slower pace of local life. Experience: Your journey begins as you step onto a 30-foot bamboo raft, expertly piloted by a local guide. The guides are full of knowledge about the flora and fauna of the region and will share fascinating stories about the river's history. The ride typically lasts about an hour, giving you plenty of time to enjoy the serene surroundings, including overhanging trees, birds, and tropical plants. The atmosphere is peaceful, with the sound of the river gently flowing and the soft rustle of the breeze through the trees. It’s an ideal activity for couples looking for a romantic experience or anyone who simply wants to escape the hustle and bustle for a while. If you’re lucky, some guides will even sing or let you steer the raft for a brief moment! What to Bring: Cash: You’ll want to tip your raft captain for their great service and potentially buy souvenirs. Some guides sell handmade crafts or carvings. Sunscreen & Hat: The ride can get quite sunny, so it’s important to protect your skin. Waterproof Bag or Pouch: Keep your phone, camera, and other valuables safe from potential splashes. Swimwear & Towel: You may not necessarily swim, but some areas allow for a quick dip, and the cool river can be refreshing. Camera/Phone: Capture the scenic beauty and maybe even get a photo of you steering the raft! Tips: Relax and Go With the Flow: This isn’t an adrenaline-packed adventure, but more of a tranquil experience to enjoy nature. Ask Questions: The guides know a lot about local history and nature, so don’t hesitate to engage with them to learn more. Timing: Early mornings or late afternoons offer cooler temperatures and fewer crowds. Martha Brae River rafting is a peaceful, scenic experience that offers a glimpse into Jamaica’s natural beauty. Whether you're looking for a relaxing adventure or a romantic outing, this is the perfect activity to unwind.

Fab jaunt down the river - I can highly recommend this afternoon trip down the river. We were picked up from Runway bay and taken to the river. The guide was very knowledgeable about the island and the river and all safety precautions were in place. Benji our raft captain was fantastic. Love every minute. Would definitely do this again if we return to Jamaica

Bambus Rafting - A very nice excursion (1/2 day) with private transfer and a nice driver guide Due to the pre-season there were very few rafts on the river. We loved the tour. The traders at the entrance were friendly and unobtrusive. If there was anything to complain about, it was that we were told the pick-up time from the hotel only the night before. But otherwise everything worked great.
