A must see Great House - D was my husby & i's tour guide, she was amazing and full of info. We enjoyed learning some more of Jamaicas history. Lots of well preserved antique furniture. Overall a great tour. I just wish there was gift shop, I would have loved to have bought something that said Greenwood.

Greenwood Great House - a step back in Jamaica's colonial history - Greenwood Greathouse is an historic destination that offers an intimate glimpse into Jamaica's history and colonial past. Built in the late 18th century and a survivor of the Christmas day rebellion, this plantation home is incredibly well preserved. While the architecture and artifacts are fascinating, the visit also serves as a poignant reminder of the injustices and suffering tied to slavery. The guided tour by Dana was educational, thoughtful and engaging. From the intricate details of the furniture, an impressive collection of antique books, and a rare collection of musical instruments, with connections to Europe, including the UK, Germany, France and Asia to the sweeping and breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea, every aspect of the tour feels authentic. It is definitely worth visiting!

Greenwood Great House a great tour - We had an excellent tour with Jackie. The house is full of interesting furniture and musical instruments. A real insight into life on an English owned estate of that time.

Great Visit to Historic Greenwood Great House! - On a visit to Falmouth, Jamaica, we visited Greenwood Great House. And it was fabulous. The mansion is the ancestral home of the poet Elizabeth Barrett Browning. And though she herself was never there, the home is filled with furniture and artifacts of the Barrett family. The tour guide at the mansion was informative and entertaining and led our group through each room, providing fascinating details of the family’s history in Jamaica as well as of the house itself. And the sweeping views of the Caribbean, especially from the verandah, are unparalleled! Capped off by a complimentary drink (rum punch or lemonade) in the attached bar — in what used to be the home’s kitchen — the tour was a delight. The house is a must-see on any visit to Falmouth or Montego Bay.

History History History! - What an amazing home! So much rich history in one unassuming place. Everywhere we turned there was stories to be told about the history of this or that. You could get up close and even hear many of the musical instruments play and the time clock work. It was just amazing. Such a unique property that obviously is loved by its owners. I thought it was so neat that they actually live in the house, in the original owners room and bed. The couple who owns the home offered some lemonade and rum punch in the bar out back. The pool area is beautiful and you could see how special this home is. Beautiful gardens and interiors and the most spectacular view!! So glad we booked this excursion on our Disney Cruise!!

A wonderful trip back in time - It was a wonderful trip back in time and all the artifact are kept in pristine condition. Our guide Thora was excellent her knowledge told a detailed story that one could get lost in. I would highly recommend her, over all it was a great experience especially if you love history.

A pleasant visit if you can afford the $20 entry - The house is well furnished and well maintained. The guide was knowledgeable. The grounds were minimal, but the house was interesting enough by itself to justify the $20 ticket. Biggest drawback is the road up to the house: narrow, winding and torturous.

Had hope for a better experience - A large but plain house compared to some of the same era and history. House is still lived in apparently although difficult to see how it is maintained as a museum and a home. Lots of complete and well furnished rooms. The novel is the musical instruments demonstrated by the guide. The house was open specially for our group which was then split into two. That said the groups were still too big and not everyone could get into the rooms being talked about nor see items being talked about or pointed to which was a real shame. A lame rum punch was served in the bar area which contained several artefacts referring to the slave era. Not much of a garden to walk around either, or at least that we were directed to. We were warned incessantly for our safety and therefore and unfortunately this was our only taste of Jamaica and only ever likely to be.
