Starting from Piazza Grande, you will discover the history of Montepulciano and the deep roots that for centuries have shaped the local people and the Vino Nobile. A guide will lead you inside of two underground cellars, through tunnels dug into the tuff, and spectacular brick vaults. Here you will find the gigantic oak barrels, inside which the famous Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG and the Rosso di Montepulciano DOC “rest”. At the conclusion of every visit, you will enjoy a tasting of the wines, with an explanation of their basic characteristics.

A historic town - A delightful resort that stands out among the hills of Val d'Orcia. Surrounded by vineyards and full of medieval history.
It is great fun to walk through the steep streets and stop in some shops for Shopping or for a Maremma snack washed down with good wine.
It will always be a good tourist half whether you travel alone, as a couple or with your family.

Charm and Hospitality - We had so much fun getting an introduction to the history of this beautiful medieval town and its wine. Our guide Laura, was very knowledgeable and personable and the representatives at the cellars we visited were charming and great hosts. We’re already planning a longer stay in Tuscany based on this experience.

So so Montepulciano tour - Montepulciano was beautiful. Our tour guide Laura was excellent and gave us very good history and information about the city and surroundings
The wine cellars were very cool and would recommend
The rating would have been higher had the tasting experience been better. The first cellar tasting started out week then another larger group came I. And we were ignored. The second cellar was more interesting but the tasting was done standing up in the sales room.

Winery tour and tasting - The guide was friendly and knowledgeable but this is absolutely something you can just do yourself. Don’t waste your money. Choose the winery you’d like to visit, ask to visit the cellar and then get a tasting.

Dissapointing. Complete waste of money! - Very dissapointing and a waste of money! We did get a discount for the kids, but they should really be free as there was not much history or information given about the town. Our tour was to include 2 underground cellars. The first winery we went to did not seem happy that we were there and did not let us into the cellar as there was no one to look after the shop. Second winery was closed and we had to walk around killing time waiting for it to open. Cellar was not underground.

Booking cancelled - Booked a tour 3 days in advance. Received confirmation and tickets electronically. The next day, I received a WhatsApp message requesting that I change the date which I was unable to do. The reservation then had to be cancelled. The tour operator would not cancel my reservation and I was left to do it. Tried cancelling on trip advisor and was told to contact a phone number. The number didn’t work. Googled another phone number for trip advisor and it was a generic “please use out online service to cancel”. That service also didn’t work.
Disappointed the booked date did not work
Out and we are left to find another activity for that day.

Scam of the trip - the so called "tour" consisted of a short walk to two wine cellars and vine tastings there. The wine tastings are actually available for free so I consider this "Tour" a scam and intend to claim money back. the tour guide just led us to the cellar and then step aside. this is definitely not worth your time and money.
