Alfredo, the winemaker, will share the history of wine from its origins and guide you on how to taste them. You can sample up to five organic wines of various flavors. The guided tour begins in the vibrant vineyards and extends to the expansive cellars, followed by a delightful tasting of exquisite and fruity wines, including the renowned Nobile di Montepulciano wine, made from a Sangiovese clone known as Prugnolo Gentile. The wine tasting is complemented by local specialties such as cold cuts, hams, cheeses, olive oil, and bruschetta, along with the traditional sweet wine “vin Santo” and the famous “cantucci.” Since the early seventeenth century, this Noble wine has been celebrated as “the king of Tuscan wines,” gaining its “noble” and “aristocratic” reputation due to the demand from the noble classes, which inspired its name. Later, explore the narrow, ancient streets of Montepulciano. This walled city is perched on a beautiful Tuscan hill and retains many incredible art treasures, as well as Etruscan and Roman cellars. If you haven’t had lunch at the farm, you can enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant specializing in traditional Tuscan recipes (not included in the price).
• Comune di Montepulciano - Montepulciano is a picturesque medieval town with a rich history, originating from the Etruscan people in the 4th century BC. Surrounded by vineyards, it is renowned for its red wine, Nobile. Admire the famous “Torre di Pulcinella,” a clock tower topped with Pulcinella, a character from the commedia dell’arte. The central square features the 14th-century Palazzo Comunale and the Duomo, showcasing a large triptych on the altar.
• Historic Centre of the City of Pienza - Visit the charming town of Pienza, nestled in the heart of Tuscany’s prized Val d’Orcia. Pienza is an architectural gem and a treasure trove of local gastronomic products, available both fresh and aged.
