Whale Watching Tour - On Nov 19th 2024, we went on the 10am tour with Discovery Whale Watching. It was probably the highlight of our vacation. The crew was superb! I'm terrible at remembering names but they all deserve a lot of credit. They were knowledgeable and engaging and truly made the trip memorable. We saw several whales and were blessed with the opportunity to see a Humpback and her calf feeding on a school of anchovies. These animals are amazing and it truly was an experience we'll never forget. I highly recommend Discovery. You won't be disappointed. They are true professionals

Excellent choice for an ocean excursion in Monterey - We saw a whole bunch of humpbacks and some Risso’s dolphins! The crew (Laura, Kenny) and naturalist Sophie were amazing, especially with my two young kids. They knew a lot about the creatures and shared their knowledge with joy. Little ones did get seasick, unfortunately, but these folks were super helpful and understanding. I’d love to go back again and see what else we can spot.

Very lucky indeed - What a fantastic experience!! The crew from checking in to leading us back ashore were great. Answered lots of questions and gave a good running commentary. We were lucky enough to see over 20 whales which was incredible. I really enjoyed it and would highly recommend. I believe the smaller boat experience was good. Much closer to the water and not so many people on board. Thanks for the experience

Lots of whales flopping - We saw a lot of whales. First, the first spot had two whales that were not very active. We moved to the other spot where there were about 10 whales. We saw lots of sea lions and birds in the same spot, all feeling on anchovies. We smelled the whale breath. The weather was a little chilly, but the water was calm. We even saw flopping really close!

AMAZING!!!! - I have lived in the Bay Area for 23 years and have been to Monterey many times but this was my first whale watching tour and it was absolutely amazing. It was a beautiful sunny day and the crew was great. We were very lucky and saw at least 20-30 humpback whales.

Good experience but one warning - Saw a lot of whales! Even saw some dolphins. It was a great experience. The only thing is that we had to stand the whole time (almost four hours) because there aren’t enough seats for everyone to sit down. The guide told folks not to “be married to your seat” but people put backpacks on their seats when they stood up to see a whale, basically to save their seat. Maybe the other boat had enough seats, but our boat didn’t. I don’t remember the name of our boat, but the other one was the Pacifica. It’s still a good experience, just know you might stand the whole time.
