Unforgettable experience at Monteverde - We toured the Monteverde cloud forest and Curi Cancha reserve with Andrey. He was very patient with our kids, he explained a ton of stuff. We got to see the 2 green vipers , pale billed woodpecker, toucan, quetzal, stick insects and many orher birds. We had an unforgettable experience, we would never have been able to figure out these on our own. Highly recommend Andrey. Thank you Andrey

Fabulous early morning Cloud Forest walk - My daughter met Andrey during a visit in 2022 and arranged an early morning walk for me on my visit. Audrey initially discussed what I wanted from our walk and accurately identified that I was an enthusiastic nature lover but a beginner birder! He took me on an amazing walk through the forest, identifying the flora and fauna we passed by. He is very knowledgeable and readily identified the bird calls and flashes of movement in the canopy, finding them through his monocular for me to see clearly. We saw at least 15 species. He happily took some wonderful photos for me as a record of our walk, particularly a film of a male Resplendent Quetzal excavating a nest in a rotten trunk. I was pleased when he shared the location with a fellow guide so others would also enjoy! As he didn't have a booking immediately following mine Andrey came with me to the Hummingbird Cafe (adjoining the forest entrance) and identified the various hummingbirds on the feeders over a coffee. A thoroughly nice person with whom to share an hour or so learning about the beauty that is The Monteverde Cloud Forest. I would recommend Andrey and Birding Journeys CR to anyone coming to visit Monteverde!

Excellent communication and tour - After an excellent tour with Andrey in 2022, I booked a tour for my mum while she was in Monteverde on her own trip to Costa Rica. Andrey was super easy to communicate with and really helpful. Thanks so much for arranging such an excellent and informative tour for her! We would recommend Andrey and Birding Journeys CR to anyone coming to visit beautiful Monteverde!

Wonderful experience… - This was a first class birding and nature experience with a master guide. Andrey has an encyclopedic knowledge of birds of Costa Rica, identifying birds by call or sight. Further he has a burning passion for birds and a willingness to share his love and profound knowledge with his clients and (to our surprise) other guides. He found out our interests and went out of his way to accommodate us on short notice. We were able to see the reknowned Resplendent Quetzal, in Monteverde, a bird we had especially hoped to see; plus dozens of other beautiful species. Andre is also a master’s trained Tropical Ecologist, and knows the intricate relations between wildlife and plant communities. We appreciated his confident, easy-going nature. I highly recommend Andre to anyone seeking an experience of birds and nature in Costa Rica.

Exceptional Experience - Andrey who is the owner was so awesome. He knows the birds by sight and sound. We saw at least 15 different species of birds and males and females. He was able o talk extensively about the habits and habitats of the birds. He took lots of pictures for us as well as looking live through his monocular. Very friendly and his English was great. He is 5 ⭐️ stars out 5. We highly recommend him.

Top birder and excellent all around guide - Andrey is an expert birder who knows where and how to find target birds. He also knows natural history and is a good story- teller. Today he led a group of four - 1 birder and 3 non- birders. He found many birds (including the quetzal), identified orchids and insects, and told us about the history and ongoing research of the MonteVerde Cloud Forest. We were happy campers.

Best guide in Monteverde - Andrey is very passionate about wildlife and it passes on! He is very knowledgeable and explained us the ecosystem while engaging us into the search. We managed to see a quetzal, very rare to spot as well as motmots and a lot of other adaptations that you need an expert to show them to you. With good equipment and a photographic eye he helped us capture really nice a unique shots on our cameras. I highly recommend you book him!

Fantastic bird guide - We enjoyed bird walking with Andrey. He is a birder and a photographer by heart; very knowledgeable about Costa Rican habitats and wildlife. Formally trained naturalist and he worked in US Hawk Mountain Sanctuary where he banded hawks. He was a pleasure to walk with because he is soft spoken and courteous and not overly ‘touristy’ guide. I will be doing solo birding tour with him again.
