Highly Recommend Jean Carlos Bird Tour - We had an amazing experience with Jean Carlos on the Monteverde bird tour. We saw at least 50 different species of birds! Jean Carlos has exceptional knowledge of a vast range of bird species. He is extremely skilled in finding birds by eye and ear. He is friendly and patient with us. We would highly recommend signing up for this tour. It was the highlight of our trip! The birds of Costa Rica are the most beautiful!

10/10 experience! - We went on a tour with Denis last week and had the most amazing time, he was amazing at spotting anything that moved and was so enthusiastic, the time absolutely flew but we spotted so many birds! He tried his hardest to find a quetzal in the Curi Cancha reserve, we missed one by just a few minutes! We saw so many different species such as Lesson's motmot, northern emerald toucanet, various tanagers such as summer and blue gray, lots of hummingbirds, squirrel cuckoo, and many more! Denis spotted a sunbittern and was so excited, it was impossible not to be as excited as he was! He was brilliant and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. It was absolutely pouring with rain for about 3.5 hours of the tour but we didn't let it get us down! Jean Carlo was so helpful when I messaged to book in, even though he was leading a tour in Peru at the time, he still took the time to message me back, and even checked in after the tour to see how we got on. Fantastic company and fantastic customer service and professionalism! Thank you!

Best in the business - Jean Carlo the best in the business. We did a morning bird watching tour with him and it was one of the best we have done in our many months of travels. His knowledge of birds by both sight and sound was truly impressive. He tailors each trip to the wants and needs of the client, ensuring an extremely high quality experience. We finished the morning with an enormous list of sightings logged into ebird. Just as importantly, Jean Carlo is truly passionate about birding and brings a great energy to the experience. We would recommend him 100%!

Well worth the investment! - A brilliant bird tour and well worth the investment! Jean Carlo was kind, patient and his enthusiasm was infectious. He was extremely knowledgable and answered any questions we had about the species we saw. The early start was great and we saw the most action before 8:30/9:00am. Would do it again! - Denis was the man! He was very knowledgeable and he showed us so many cool birds and other wildlife. He was a real enthusiast and it’s clear he loves his job. 100% worth the money. *** any tour that doesn’t start at 6 am is a waste in my opinion*** most of the action happened from 5:30-8:30 am, when the wildlife is most active.

BEST investment of the trip - Truly the HIGHLIGHT of our week-long trip in Costa Rica. If you are on the fence about booking this tour, do not hesitate! It was such a privilege to be able to bird with Jean Carlo--he was kind, patient, has an amazing eye and his knowledge of the birds of Costa Rica is unparalleled. He helped us to take amazing photos with his spotting scope and knew exactly where in Monteverde to go to maximize our chances of seeing particular birds. We ended the day with 62 birds spotted, beyond our wildest expectations! This tour is perfect for avid birders as well as beginners; we had a group with mixed birding experience and EVERYONE had a wonderful time and raved about Jean Carlo's tour for the rest of the trip.

Magical Experience - This was such a special experience. We came during rainy season and it was still incredible. While we didn’t see a quetzal (not the season for them in Monteverde) it was so fun to see all the other species of birds. So many hummingbirds. Our guide Derniert was amazing. So knowledgeable about not only birds but much of Costa Rica in general. He spoke flawless English and was very patient with our questions as amateur birdwatchers. Highly recommend! Also recommend bringing a good set of binoculars to look at things on your own while he is scouting for birds!

Perfect morning for bird enthousiasts - I booked a last minute private tour with Juan Carlo. He proved to be a very professional guide and a pleasure to communicate with him. We spent around 5 hours in the nature of Monteverde. Spotted lots of birds (a matter of seconds for him) including the beautiful Quetzal tropical bird. Had a fantastic morning! If you are into birds, don't mind getting up before 6am and are looking for the best guide. Schedule this tour and enjoy!

The best birding experience! - We started at 6am with pickup at our hotel. Jean Carlo took us to 3 different locations and we saw and heard over 40 species of birds (only a few were seen at more than one location), including my favourite hummingbirds and Northern Emerald Toucanet. Jean Carlo was extremely knowledgeable, identifying every bird, adding them to the list in the eBird app so we could review them later, and helping us get the best photos and videos of each one. He certainly did everything he could to give us the best experience, which we will never forget!
