Wonder what it takes to get your cup of coffee!! - It was a last minute planning to get on this tour and am glad we did. It is a lot of learning on the tour. They show the in and out of coffee, cocoa and sugarcane. Rafael was our guide and he kept the story interesting and answered lots of questions of our questions, showed the process and also gave sample coffee, chocolates and sugarcane juice to taste..

Excellent experience - I recommend taking the tour with the guide Katherine, it was an excellent experience. He answered every one of our questions and made the tour very interesting. We learned a lot about each process (coffee, chocolate, cane) and our favorite part was tasting the types of coffee at the end of the tour. It is definitely a tour you must do if you visit Monteverde.

Great all round experience. - A small group lour that is professional and personal. The venue is very well maintained and gives a thorough hands-on overview of growing harvesting processing history and enjoyment of premium chocolate and coffee. Guides are well informed and attentive to their guests. Parklike grounds and a spacious tasting area with good gift shop

An enriching tour - Super recommended! We did the coffee, cocoa and sweet cane tour, our guide Alejandro made the tour fun and interesting and was always attentive to any questions or requests, we tried everything during the tour and both before and after they offered complimentary coffee. The staff was very attentive from check-in to check-out. Plus when we arrived at the place we managed to see a cherenga calmly crossing the parking lot, it is a mandatory stop if you come to Monteverde!

Great tour - This was an excellent tour with a fantastic knowledgeable guide. We learned so much about the process of coffee, cacao and sugar cane. You got to try each product along the way and even made molasses out of the sugar cane syrup which was treat. At the end they provided a cup of black coffee which was excellent and a beef and potato tortilla (vegetarian option too), and a lemonade.

A fun history of our favorite snacks - My friend and I had a free day and decided to check out the 3 in 1 tour. We were both "eh," but the reviews looked good, and it was inexpensive (sorry TA, but book directly from Don Juan. It's cheaper), so we decided to give it a chance despite not being super in to the history of our snacks. We both were glad we did it and had a great time. It's actually a very interesting (to some) history of coffee, cocoa, and sugarcane. It honestly could've been incredibly dry and boring, but our guide, Carlos, was fabulous! He made it interactive and was able to answer almost every question asked. The samples of the chocolate were incredible (I bought way too many and I have absolutely NO intention of gifting some lol), the sugar water was surprisingly good, and finally figuring out the different types and brewing processes will help me in the future 😉 Don't go in expecting to the modern processing plant (I don't know why some reviewers thought that was what was going to happen) as this is about how we got to where we are with the 3 today.

From Tortuguero to Monteverde it is worth taking the entire journey - A new and wonderful experience. We had the opportunity to take two tours. The guide, Gabriel, is an excellent person, very friendly and very knowledgeable.
