Exceptional guide & experience, even saw Momma & baby Sloths! - We’re so glad that we spent the money and booked this night tour with a guide, especially being in the dark, as we wouldn’t have seen anything on our own (except trees). Elbert, was exceptional at finding birds, insects and snakes (even the hardest to spot), and a Momma and baby sloth! Which we were very excited to see up close with his telescope. He had a wealth of knowledge on all of the wildlife and nature, including the various plant, flower and tree species. His knowledge of the forest and Monteverde added to our experience and the peaceful and adventurous nighttime walk. Thank you Elbert!

Great time with a great guide - Elbert was fantastic. My family and I saw so many really fascinating animals and plants. Highlights - three vipers (one baby that I don’t know how he found,) three sloths (including a baby,) an armadillo and more plants, birds, and bugs than I can recount.

Fantastic night hike with lots to see - Alexander was a great guide. We saw a very active 2-toed sloth, a kinkajou, snakes, lots of birds, and spiders. It exceeded our expectations.

You get to see a lot of animals and our guide spoke really good English, he took care of us all the time. One of the best experiences - Mauricio was the best tour guide we could have asked for. I asked 100 questions and he answered every one. He was so professional and the tour was great. We saw a ton of wild life!

A nice rain walk - could use more information during walk (at least, if there aren't animals to talk about) - First, one should be clear that this is at the Monteverde Wildlife Refuge - NOT the Monteverde Cloudforest Reserve. Not that it makes it any less excellent a spot, just that it is 25 minutes away! We were not the only ones who didn't read the fine print carefully enough, so perhaps this could be made clearer with the booking. At any rate, if you go on the tour, take note of this! It was raining during our tour, which we understood would (and did) limit the amount of wildlife we saw. Nonetheless, we did see a few birds and got an excellent look at a pit viper. However, it would be good - anytime, but especially on wildlife-slow evenings (and given how much one is paying both for the tour and to get into the park) - if the guide could then instead talk about other things - point out or discuss features of the cloudforest and flora. Aside from itself being of positive interest, it would alleviate what was a lot of just pretty silent walking, looking here and there largely in vain for animals. We have been on quite interesting and successful walks where there was little wildlife to be seen, but the general information provided by the guide made it nonetheless an excellent experience. We enjoyed our walk and found it exciting to be out at night in the cloud forest; these remarks are meant in a constructive way.
