• Ciudad Vieja - We start our tour at the port market to begin exploring the rich history of our city. We stroll through the streets of this colonial city, admiring the period buildings.
• Catedral de Montevideo - This Catholic church had its cornerstone laid in 1790. The construction was completed in 1804, before the country gained independence.
• Plaza Independencia - Here, you will witness the division between the old city and see one of its main statues, representing our National Hero José Gervasio Artigas.
• Palacio Legislativo - The Legislative Palace, home to Uruguay’s Legislative Branch, is a stunning neoclassical building. We will tour only the exterior to appreciate its architecture, culture, and history.
• Mercado Agricola Montevideo - MAM - The last of Montevideo’s great iron-built markets. Declared a National Historical Monument in 1999, it was restored in 2006 and reopened in 2013 with 107 stores.
• Carreta Monument - This iconic monument in Montevideo honors the country’s history and culture. Built in 1934, it is a striking representation of the oxcart, a historical symbol integral to Uruguayan identity.
• Estadio Centenario - A historic soccer stadium inaugurated in 1930, known for hosting the first FIFA World Cup. We will explore the surroundings of this beautiful structure. Entry to the stadium is not included in the tour (you can purchase tickets at the stadium entrance) if you wish to see the interior.
• Playa Pocitos - Features the Montevideo sign with a panoramic view of Pocitos beach.
• Mercado del Puerto - The Montevideo Port Market, home to some of the city’s most important restaurants.
