Day to taste wines - Sensational! Miguel picked us up at the hotel in Montevideo and we went first to the Bodega Santa Rosa, considered by the experts as "Bodega Museo", the Bodega Santa Rosa has been a protagonist for 3 centuries in Uruguayan winemaking. With 6 generations and more than 115 years of history, Santa Rosa is the oldest winery to produce fine and sparkling natural wines in Uruguay. We had the pleasure to meet Mr. Juan (current owner). Alexandra, the current oenologist, was extraordinary, very attentive... we had lunch at the Santa Rosa restaurant and the food was divine. The big difference of this cellar is to be intimate, we are treated with a lot of affection. Leaving there, in response to our request, Miguel took us quickly to meet the Vinícola Bouza, beautiful, super modern, but far from having the affection and attention we had at Santa Rosa.

Do it! - Great experience! They don’t just take you to big, commercial wineries. You get to see smaller or older historic wineries. Great guide/translator Miguel! He was on time, spoke multiple languages, studied the profess of wine making, and very friendly. great wine, and amazing lunch at Santa Rosa winery, over 100 years old! Beautiful cellar and dining area.

Lovely vineyard and guide! - It was so wonderful to spend time at Casillo Viejo, meeting the family behind the vineyard who were so lovely and made us feel so at home! Miguel was a super guide with great English and was also an excellent translator for some parts of the tour. The lunch was also amazing and so well matched with the wines. He also provided some great recommendations for what else to do in Montevideo - highly recommend!

A must do experience when visiting Montevideo! - Miguel arrived right on time and we had a great drive to the wine country leaning more about Uruguay. At Castillo Viejo we were met my Raquel who gave us an in-depth history of wine making in Uruguay as well as the history of the bodega. She is extremely knowledgeable and was patient in answering all of our questions. Next we proceeded to the amazing cellar where we tasted 4 wines, with very generous pours and a gourmet lunch. Along the way we met family members who own Castillo Viejo and we were warmly welcomed by them. Overall a great experience, very relaxing and most importantly delicious food and wine. I highly recommend the experience.

Great day in Montevideo - We're so happy we did this tour! I had been wanting to taste wine from the Tennat grape. We were greeted with a glass of wine when we arrived at Castillo Viejo. Then we walked among the vines and tasted different grape varieties. This was followed by a tour of the production facility. After that, we went to the wine cellar for a luncheon with about 5 different wine pairings. This is a fabulous excursion for any wine lover!

Go for the wine and food; stay for the hospitality of Bodegas Castillo Viejo. - Great day at Bodegas Castillo Viejo. The wine was delicious and the lunch amazing. Miguel was a wonderful guide for us. His knowledge is expansive in wine, wine making, and the wine making region which made the day even more amazing.

Incredible Day and Well Planned! - This was one of the best planned tours we’ve done anywhere in the world. The organizer, Ryan, reached out via WhatsApp weeks in advance and was kind enough to coordinate the best way to pick us up and provided tons of recommendations for Uruguay. Our guide on the day of the tour, Miguel, was incredibly kind and fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, and English. We had a great time with him at an amazing winery with an experience just for us. Their food was also amazing. We can’t recommend this enough!

Wine Tasting and lots of laughs - My dad and I had a great day with Miguel in Montevideo at Casa Viejo. We were paired with two fun Brits and thoroughly enjoyed wine tasting, a 4 course lunch and lots of fun and laughter. Miguel is very engaging and went out of his way to make sure we all had a great day. I would love to come back and do another tour. Highly recommend.
